The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
This is one of the best, positive vibes shows I’ve seen in a long time. It gives hope and encouragement. Also a happy outlet on TV instead of these ridiculous realty TV shows, hokey sitcoms like modern family, or cop investigation type ones. I am in your test demographic and miss watching Pure Genius. It would be a great addition to any night line up.
Please do not cancel this bright up and coming new show. Granted I’m not in your demographic group that you want, but why is it always 18-49? People above age 49 watch TV too, probably more than your 18 year old. You should have 2 demographics to go by. Get with the times. Give us over 49ers the chance.
Patricia I agree with you whole hearted. I am 62, and I love this show. Its like looking into the future because many of these innovations will come in time. I love it, and Supernatural, Scorpion.
Seems to me there are a lot of sit coms that need canceled. Because they are garbage.
I love this show. This is one of my best shows to watch. Please don’t cancel it. I love all the actors/actress and what they do for others in need of a cure. It seems that all the good shows get cancelled, sad to see this one go. I don’t understand why these other crazy shows keep airing when there are better ones like this one.
I love this show it is Pure hope for everyone. Hope diseases will be cured, hope red tape will go away, hope doctors can work together with other professionals to get the best outcome for patients. Please bring it back, ease advertise it more so others will want to watch. This is so much better than some of the trash.
Pure Genius was one of the best shows I’ve seen in years! It was a creative, ingenious marriage of medicine and technology being used together to save lives. This show helped us to believe that anything can be possible when people work together. Please, please bring it back. We need more shows that instill beliefs that we can do the impossible if we believe and put our minds to it.
Pure Genius is one of the best shows on tv. Gives people of what to hope for in future medicine. Most people want to be entertained and are tied of police shows and violence. They want to see something interesting that helps people and when at home get away from the bad news being shown on the daily news. Please keep this show on the air
My husband and I absolutely love Pure Genius . It is one that is suspensful, exciting, and always keeps us interested. Wonderful Medical show with what the future might hold for technology. PLEASE PLEASE keep this going!!
I love this show. Not a cuss word every other word. Just a good Medical drama that puts out great ideas. I watch very few shows and this is one of them.
Please renew. The most refreshing show with new technology. Very entertaining.
.
My wife and I both enjoyed watching Pure Genius Bring it back
My family and I love this show. It will be a real shame to once again cancel a show with feeling, imagination, innovation, and invention that all races and ages can enjoy and learn from. Pure Genius has heart, keep it beating.
First show in a long time that I can watch with my adult kids without embarrassment, and it was enjoyable for them and me. Please continue the series. Gives hope to families with severe illness that maybe medical communities can aspire to curing all diseases. Thanks to the creators of Pure Genius.
I think this was a great show which not only showed the possibility of future advancements in medicine but also showed compassion which is needed in shows today. Please bring it back.
I love the show. There is nothing like it on tv. Please keep the show on
Keep the show – both husband and I loved it as well as the kids – good show with great technology innovations for medical science healthcare – great story line and the characters were finally developing – make another season and give it a chance. There is so much garbage on TV – this series was really unique – better than Code Black and much better than CSI New Orleans.
