Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is back. TVInsider reports Netflix is rebooting the Bravo makeover series.
The original show debuted in 2003 and featured five gay experts — Carson Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia and Jai Rodriguez — helping a straight man makeover his life, focusing on wardrobe, food, lifestyle, interior decoration, and hair. The series ran for five seasons before ending in 2007.
Netflix has ordered eight episodes of the reboot, but will the original “Fab Five” return? It seems not. Kressley is currently a contestant on NBC’s The New Celebrity Apprentice and Ted Allen hosts the Food Network competitions series Chopped and Chopped Junior.
From Netflix:
In a time when America stands divided and the future seems uncertain, a team of five brave men will try to bring us closer together with laughter, heart, and just the right amount of moisturizer.”
What do you think? Did you watch the original Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? Will you watch the Netflix reboot?
I did watch some of the original Q ueer Eye. But I like the new version more. The original cast didn’t seem as personable or fun loving. Of course, times have changed.
