Though the Rectify TV show brings in low ratings for SundanceTV, The cable channel has already renewed the series for a fourth season. Will the numbers rise in season three — or will the execs wish they’d cancelled it instead? Stay tuned.
On Rectify, Daniel Holden (Aden Young) spent 19 years on Death Row for the rape and murder of his teenage girlfriend. He was freed thanks to DNA evidence and returned to his hometown. Daniel struggles to adapt to his new life and make his way in a town filled with people who aren’t terribly happy to see him — including some of the members of his own family. Other castmembers include Abigail Spencer, Adelaide Clemens, Clayne Crawford, Bruce McKinnon, J. Smith-Cameron, Jake Austin Walker, Luke Kirby, JD Evermore, Johnny Ray Gill, and Sean Bridgers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 160,000 total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Rectify TV series? Do you think it should have been renewed for a fourth season, despite the low ratings?
I think Rectify is a good show as this type of thing happens in real life and if there is only going to be a firth season then I would love to see the good guys win and people like the senator put in his place because what is he really hiding!
SO PLEASED THIS SHOW HAS BEEN RENEWED! Never have missed an episode. Am always on the edge of my seat..worried Daniel will go back to prison again…because he wants to be there and not on the outside looking in from afar. Season 4 should be very interesting for Daniel. It’s worrisome that he may not like the outcome of the current investigation. Will there ever be a therapist in his future…time will tell I guess…must give props to the writers that write this series. I mean…it’s like I really do know these characters.
Now that Rectify Season 3 has come to a close, I can only ask WHY more viewers who get Sundance channel aren’t tuning in to their best show. And what a S3 finale Rectify unfurled for all of us! Truly this series is a hidden gem- can’t wait for Season 4 to start!
I agree; what a hidden gem. Not enough people have Sundance to see this show, they should consider airing it on another network for ONE SEASON to get the word out; like HBO has done with a couple of Cinemax series. RECTIFY is TOO GOOD for such a small audience.
You are so right- Rectify needs a bigger, wider platform! Being a “cult hit” is all well and good, but access to a larger number of viewers would really be splendid.
Love it. Please don’t cancel. Love the story line.
This showed got renewed for a forth season about a month ago already.
I love this series. Such good acting. It absolutely should be renewed for a 4th season.
I kuve this show it is one of the best shows on tv right now!!
Three seasons is enough. Let’s get to the conclusion!
To tell the truth, I’m enjoying Rectify’s bumpy ride so much, can’t want it to end just yet.
This is a terrific series that I had never heard anything about, let alone watched, until the Sundance marathon leading up to its Season 3 premiere. Went to a friend’s house- he was watching marathon episodes. An hour later I was completely hooked by this terrific show! Well written, mysterious who-done-it plot: released from prison by new DNA findings, Daniel Holden returns to his home town, having spent 19 years on death row for someone else’s crime, or…..did he? Rectify’s characters talk and act refreshingly like REAL LIFE Southerners, not the usual tired Hollywood stereotypes. Can hardly wait to see… Read more »
Marie Roget – Agree, I have watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix – Love Rectify! I don’t have The Sundance Network, but will definitely watch season 3 when it gets to Netflix. Last year it took them about 6 months after season 2 was out.
UPDATE – because of Rectify, I changed my TV subscription to INCLUDE SUNDANCE.
