What’s This TV Show About?
An ABC crime drama, Reef Break stars Poppy Montgomery, Ray Stevenson, Desmond Chiam, Melissa Bonne, and Tamala Shelton. The series centers on Cat Chambers (Montgomery), a former thief. These days, she works as the fixer for the governor of a beautiful Pacific Island paradise — “The Reef.” Thanks to her checkered past, Cat has a deep understanding of criminals and the crimes they commit. As a real risk-taker, she runs toward adventure, not from it.

Will ABC cancel or renew Reef Break for season two. The live ratings have been very low but, keep in mind that this is a French-American crime drama produced by ABC Studios and ABC Studios International, in partnership with French broadcaster M6. Other low-rated series have been saved from cancellation in the US, because they’re profitable overseas. That’s no guarantee of a renewal, but sometimes networks do have a higher tolerance for lower ratings, if they’re making some money on a show in other ways (see Ransom and Dynasty for recent examples). I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that the series “REEF BREAK” has not been RENEWED for a second season!!! I was so looking forward to their Season 2 premieres. I’m also VERY disappointed that Eva Longoria’s series, “GRAND HOTEL” was all together cancelled!!!
Two NEW awesome and exciting shows that so MANY people watched and fell in love with in 2019, unfortunately are crushed and disappointed with ABC yet again!!!
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that they have NOT renewed REEF BREAK!! I’m also VERY disappointed that Eva Longoria’s series “GRAND HOTEL” was cancelled for 2020!!!!!

Reef break was captivating to watch. You should give it another season. It’s worth it!
Of course another new show canceled. I grew to love Reef Break. It is a perfect role for Poppy Montgomery. Maybe if the show had been promoted more people would have watched it. Another great show, with a good story and cast gone.
It should not matter about the box office or how many people watched it, I believe as long as 1 million viewers watched the show they should keep making episodes if it drops under a million then stop, because 1 million views is still profitable. They upset the people who actually enjoy the show just because there isn’t enough people who watch the show, who cares how many people watch it, if it makes others happy and they enjoy the show keep the series going. Oh come on, don’t cancel Reef Break. One of my favorites. Got hooked on it totally by accident, it came on after something I had been watching and i decided to watch it. I really like the show.
Anything starring the delightful Poppy Montgomery is worth a second season!
I actually rather liked Reef Break, and I seldom watch much on ABC except local and sometimes national news. Too bad.
Sorry that ABC decided against renewing Reef Break. It is sad that they use Nielson ratings for these decisions as they are quite skewed. As a part of a former Nielson family with the “box that decides” it is all going to depend on the household and how often they are home watching television. With DVR’s even though you record a program that does not necessarily mean you will watch the episode if the DVR starts to get full. I really loved ReefBreak and hope it is renewed for a new Season so we can enjoy more of this refreshing surf-oriented programming!
I recently discovered the show and binge watched every episode. Reef Break is a good series. I really enjoyed all The episodes. If it wasn’t for Hulu I wouldn’t have known anything about it. Due to DVR’s and local cable being costly Most people lack the knowledge of newly Aired TV shows. I am a huge fan of great cop tv dramas. We need more of them. It doesn’t take long for them to get canceled. I’d much rather watch these kind of shows besides all the made up crappy shows that are consistently Based on real life drama

This was a great show. What do you expect the ratings to be during the summer and ABC did not promote it. If the series was in the fall, the ratings would have been much better. This show was very refreshing, Poppy is a great actress, and the plot is different than most cops and robber show.PLEASE CHANGE YOUR MIND!!
