How times have changed. Last year, Revolution looked like it was the big hit of the 2012-13 season. Now, NBC has cancelled it, according to TV Guide.
Revolution revolves around the Matheson family and others who live in a world where there is no longer any power. The cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, JD Pardo, Stephen Collins, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Following The Voice, Revolution started out very strong last year but the numbers fell as the season progressed. NBC renewed it for a full season off 22 episodes anyway and relocated it to Wednesdays at 8pm. It’s really struggled in that timeslot and this week fell to a 1.2 demo rating with 3.78 million viewers — an all-time low.
Not surprisingly, NBC has decided not to order a third season. There are two installments remaining and they will air on May 14th and May 21st. The final episode of ABC’s Mixology will also air on the latter date.
What do you think? Did you stick with Revoluton? If you ran the network, would you have cancelled the show or renewed it for a third season?
I looked forward into watching Revolution, I can’t believe they cancelled the show. They didn’t leave any closure to the series. Why why why would they do this.
I would really miss this show. It has a great plot and wonderful visuals.
Keep this show please. My husband and I love it. Very disappointed nbc is cancelling it. You always cancel the good ones and keep the stupid ones. So sick of these reality shows.
Maybe if they didn’t have such a long break between seasons , the show wouldn’t have lost so many viewers. Talk about frustrating . Look at Under the Dome. It’s been ages since that show aired. I know that it is coming back but I am sure the a lot of people who watched it loyally may not want to get back into it for fear that it too will be axed.
Once again NBC shoots themselves in the foot!!! They dump a good show and they will replace it with crap that wont last a season. NBC is run by people without a lick of common sense.
The series was beginning to flounder with the same repeated drama. They should have moved on earlier to the nanos taking over people and the new theme of Aaron, Pricilla, Rachel and all the others doing battle with the nanos instead of leaving us hanging with the “pending battle” of nanos vs the human “ants”…
Perhaps NBC will reconsider…
season 2 was moving slow and in circles …22 episodes all about Willoughby…there was no real action, war between the states…just Willoughby…thats why it got boring..the last episode looked like the best
WHY??
To say that I am so tired of losing the good shows on the air to the CRAP they replace it with just does not do justice to how I am feeling right now! We want to have entertaining show like Revolution, Defiance, Hawaii Five – O, Blue Bloods just to name a few. We are sick of so called REALITY Shows. Please someone give us Revolution back. If we want reality, we will look at the world around us. NOT HAPPY AT ALL
I’m Portuguese and I watched this series religiously with my sister. We are very disappointed since we found out that it will not be a 3rd season, is a great series. Normally we lowered the series online. only now she will pass the syfy channel here in Portugal … the series has many fans around the world, I think a lack of respect canselarem good series and others that do not interest anyone still occupy unnecessary space. Please do not cancel the series revolution, is the best series I’ve ever seen as well as the series ‘almost human’ which was… Read more »
I think it is really bad move on the part o NBC. To leave it with no closure is absurd. Why does it always have to like this? I know myself of large number of people that watched. It be our conversation the following day. The cast were all great actors! why this was done so abruptly after a few years is beyond me. I guess you could strike as up as another sellout. Seems like, to me, when a spot of truth is out there, this is what happens. I guess I will leave NBC for AMC, FX, and… Read more »
Are you kidding? You’re not even going to end this show, just leave it hanging like you did????
NBC is too quick to cancel their “considered marginally” rated TV series. This decision on Revolution is just like Crossing Lines. They are both great shows that should remain on the air, if not on NBC than put them on one of their other networks. I hope they’re not just getting their ratings from just prime time TV viewers but include subscribers of Direct & Dish, as everyone I know watched or recorded these shows religiously.
Revolution is a realy good and different series. I would like to continue to season 3. Do not stop playing this series please.
I’m very disappointed in NBC for cancelling this show. I’ve watched Revolution from the beginning, and was looking forward to another season. Another reason I rarely watch this station.
