The CW is sticking with Archie. Deadline reports the network has renewed Riverdale for a second season.
Based on the characters from Archie Comics, the drama follows the residents of a small town in the wake of a mysterious murder. The cast includes KJ Apa, Luke Perry, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Mädchen Amick, Marisol Nichols, Casey Cott, and Madelaine Petsch.
The renewal is not that surprising. Archie Comics just signed a new development deal with Warner Bros. Television, and the ratings for Riverdale have been okay so far. Season one is currently averaging a .43 rating in the 18-49 demo with 1.155 million viewers. While not great, Deadline reports the series’ delayed and digital viewership has been high for the The CW, “growing 78% in adults 18-34 and 85% in women 18-34 in Live+7 day ratings over L+SD.”

LOVE THIS SHOW! I HOPE IT GOES ON FOR AT LEAST 3 MORE SEASONS! BUT mostly I hope it goes like my favorite show supernatural and gets 12 seasons or more!
I’m thrilled that Riverdale will be seeing a season 2! I look forward to each weeks new episode! It has suspense, passion, characters I want to root for and it keeps me guessing as the plot thickens! This is a great show for teens and adults alike! Thanks CW and Warner Bros for giving season 2 a go!!!
I love Riverdale! I look forward to watching it every Thursday night at 8pm! The suspense gets me everytime! I recommend it to my friends and co workers everytime i watch a new episode! The characters are the best, i think they all fit their rolls very well! Love love love love this show! Havent missed one so far and i don’t plan on ever missing one!

I think that they should consider showing Archie as shirtless as possible, and potentially in running shorts only as well to keep the ratings UP

You’re right, it’s not surprising.
Neither is the ridiculous game they play with the statistics, hoping nobody notices that an 80% improvement on bad ratings is still bad ratings or that nobody pays for Live+7 numbers (they pay for Live+3).
