The 10-episode first season of the Roadies TV show premiered on Showtime, June 26, 2016. Executive producer Winnie Holzman talks about the possibilities a second season of Roadies might bring. Holzman previously worked on TV series including Huge, which was cancelled after one season on ABC Family (now Freeform), Once and Again, which was cancelled after one season on ABC, and My So-Called Life which was also cancelled after one season on the Alphabet Network.
A musical comedy drama series from Cameron Crowe, the Roadies TV series has yet to be renewed for season two. The cast includes: Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, and Ron White.

Are you thinking ahead to future seasons? Would this group of people stay with this band for multiple tours?
HOLZMAN: I think that will be up to Cameron and the conversations we have with Showtime, but we feel very elastic about it. We feel like we could stay with this band and continue. You could have it that a lot of these roadies end up on another tour. You could have it that they end up in another tour. I think it would be fun to mix it up. I can picture playing it out so many different ways, and I think that’s part of the fun of this show. You could keep this core group of roadies together, but you could have various things happen.
Here is more on the first season of the Roadies TV series, from Showtime:
The series gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of roadies who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. ROADIES chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.
What do you think? Have you been watching the first season of Roadies? How would you like a second season to play out? Should Roadies be cancelled or renewed? Tell us.
I really and truly cannot imagine a summer without Roadies. Every Sunday I tune into this show, and it’s really depressing thinking there may not be a season 2. Shows like this that have such amazing potential always seem to get cut short, and it’s simply not fair. It’s smart, witty, funny, and features a lovable cast that grows on you more and more with each episode. What else can you ask for? What, good music? It has that too! Halsey was personally my favorite guest star, but there were so many classic rock artists featured and hinted at in… Read more »
Please renew! I thought it was an awesome show. Loved the characters AND the music
Please renew this show! I am an old guy with a young soul. I served in the military in a combat support role. My fellow soldiers and I were not the Rock Stars, we were the roadies. This show is awesome! I truly enjoyed every episode. The entire cast is great and all the guest stars and guest musicians made me look forward to the next episode. Please, please don’t break up “our” band!
I hope you renew this show; we love it! Looking forward to season 2!
I love this show! Please let there be a season 2!
Awesome show! Great cast and terrific chemistry. The writing is wonderful. Best show I’ve watched in a long time that I couldn’t wait to see the next episode of
Loved this series! Totally a love
Letter to music lovers! Great writing with lots of soul and awesome characters.
Please renew, love it!
Please renew! Just saw the season finale and love all the guests on the show. Also love the music and family bonding!
Please bring this show back! I’m in my early twenties and have an old soul. This show makes me feel like I can live in the glory days of music, which I never had the true chance to experience. It’s a great show and had so much potential!
I entirely love “Roadies”!!! I so very much hope that the show is renewed for a second season. I found Holzman’s remarks interesting as to what she thought about “Fun” and “Mixing it up”, and some of the ideas that she presented, and feel that she IS missing something … Especially given that many of “Her” shows with “Her” ideas, were cancelled after one season. I hope Cameron comes more to the forefront as it relates to the writing. Some of the best episodes were written by him. Of those that I found the weakest, or that had the weakest… Read more »
Holzman I think you are missing something. As someone that really loves music and the band that picked me (I follow them on tour) I get the family thing from the front of the house. I love this show please keep the family together and don’t break it up.
Thankfully, my friend, turned me on to this AWESOME series! WOW! I unfortunately didn’t have Showtime and knew nothing about it! I have music in my bones…to the marrow..deeper, if that’s possible! LOL! I actually watched the last episode (that’s the only one she has not seen!) I was immediately hooked and watched a marathon of the whole season…including Other episodes – Roadies(the real life roadies) & yes, the last episode again! I probably could do it all over again, in a day or so, if I had the time! This show was casted so perfectly…the acting, supern! You simply… Read more »
I think this show has most assuredly earned the right to another season. The cast has made each character real and the team has emerged with it’s own identity now. I enjoy the dialog and their timing is incredible. PLEASE RENEW !!!
Really enjoyed this show and the music was great, reminded of my days in the L. A. of the eighties when I shot underground video with many bands and met so many terrific people. Bring it back so the old hippie can relive a few great memories.
