Animation producers (and spouses) Allison Abbate and Tony Cervone recently stopped by the Radio Rashy podcast to talk with animation writer/producer Paul Dini and his wife, actress/magician Misty Lee.
A lot of the discussion revolved around Abbate’s work on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie feature film but Cervone, who’s a supervising producer on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, mentioned the Cartoon Network series.
Cervone said, “There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”
At 2011’s ComicCon, Cervone and fellow supervising producer Mitch Watson teased that events in the pilot episode would pay off in the 52nd episode. We now know that will be the series finale.
One of the most recent episodes, which aired last fall, featured appearances by classic Hanna-Barbera characters Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Race Bannon, Doctor Benton Quest (Jonny’s scientist dad), and evil Doctor Zin. It turns out that Doctor Quest created the Dog Wonder!
Though Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated won’t be returning for a third season, it’s a safe bet that Scooby and the gang will return soon.

Please, please, please bring back the gang. Our whole family loves this series. We really do. The writing is so cool and witty. The sheriff is a crack up!! The humour is brilliant across the board. It would be extremely disappointing if this series didn’t continue. It’s absolute gold!!!

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. cartoon series
I am very sry to hear that the Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. cartoon series will not continue. I have watched Scooby Doo since I was a child but this is by far the best Scooby series I have had the pleasure of watching. The final episode leaves room for the series to continue so I will keep my fingers crossed that they will surprise us and decide to continue this excellent series.

Where is a sign up sheet demanding a Season 3 of SD Mystery Inc? Whole family loved this show. Even better than original imo. Witty and smart. Plllleeeaase bring it back.
I know it’s not going to happen but I would really like more Mystery Inc. I’m 59 years old been watching Scooby since I was a kid this was a cartoon for all ages . Very cleverly written , loved the way they wove the relationship angle into the story was really looking forward to their road trip and college years .

One thing that can be noted is that at the end of the 2nd season, they say they are going across the country mystery solving. so that would suggest follow-ups
I was the kind of child who would cry a lot but when my parents showed me scooby doo I was instantly addicted, me being the teenager in high school, I’m still addicted to scooby doo and when I watched this show I couldn’t stop watching episode after the next one. But it honestly shocked me when I heard there wasn’t going to be a season 3….
Please bring back the show, so that even I could show my kids what I grew up to.

I also beg to please bring this show back…ive watched scooby doo my whole life an as a 17year old i love the mystery incorporated series and im very sad that it has stoppedi really ask nicely to bring this back so people like us can still continue to support and watch this amazing series…..scooby doo is like a role model to me in a way i would always want him by my side….and this series has brought me so closer to watching more and more….so once again i ask bring it back!!!!i beg of you

Mystery incorporated haf such an ending! So it should have a 3rd season because I mean everything ended by leaving everyone curious so I think that we deserve a 3rd season. Great show I miss it.
I’m really going to miss Professor Pericles most of all. He made the show more intense. Udo Kier did a very special act that made this the best show ever. It was very catching. Please give us season 3.
