What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, Sense8 stars Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Brian J. Smith, Freema Agyeman, Terrence Mann, Anupam Kher, Naveen Andrews, and Daryl Hannah. The series follows eight people from around the world, who were born on the same day, and share a psychic connection. In the second season, the Sensates — Capheus (Onwumere), Kala (Desai), Lito (Silvestre), Nomi (Clayton), Riley (Middleton) , Sun (Bae), Will (Smith) and Wolfgang (Riemelt) –unite and dive headlong into each other’s lives, as they ponder their existence. Because Whispers (Mann) is hunting them down, the group needs to live together, fathom one another, and defend themselves.
On June 1, 2017, Sense8 was cancelled. There will be no third season on Netflix but a series ending special airs June 8, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless Netflix decides to release streaming “ratings” it is always difficult to gauge the success of streaming TV shows, like Sense8, so let’s look at what we do know. The critical response to the first season of Sense8 was mostly positive. We’ll have to wait and see how viewers respond to the second season. After the show’s nearly two years on hiatus, will the audience still care?
While we do know the actors’ contracts lapsed, a couple of months ago Netflix reportedly reached out the core cast for a third season, and was in the process of re-signing them. So, it seems the internet streaming service is eager for me to go hungry, but does P.E.T.A. care? Well, my phone’s not ringing. I can tell you that much. My husband, my daughter and I are totally addicted to the Sense8 series. These characters are amazing! They touch the issues of real life relationships. Their stories are thrilling. We binge watched the whole 2nd season. Please consider a 3rd season!
This show is amazing!! I am about to watch the last episode of season 2 and missing it already. Can’t wait for the 3rd season, it’s gotta happen!!! Sooner than later I hope.

A most amazing series that must continue–more important than the dark side of BPO and Whispers is what is happening in the cluster of eight —It is telling the evolution of the planet.

This is probably one of the best shows my friends and I have watched. I would die if they cancelled it. There’s got to be a way to contact the creators and tell them how much the show is loved and despite waiting for so long, were all still fans! I HAVE to know what happens between Wolfgang and Kala!!!!!

This is one of the best shows out there!! There is absolutely nothing negative I can say, well written, great acting, fantastic production value. PLEASE make a third season, or better yet just keep making it forever!

Senses 8 season 2 leaves a cliff hanger, so after watching all the episodes there better be a season 3.
I think that was pretty stupid if they have 12 episodes leaving the audience hanging and not know if there is going to be a season 3.
I feel like it was a waste of time
I’m with everyone on here, this show is absolutely my favorite on Netflix and DTV. Season 2 was a fantastic adrenaline and emotional rush. I will be crushed if the Netflix team chooses not to renew for a 3rd season. I know without a doubt now with the second season out there the series will begin to reach out to more viewers. I think sense8 has what it takes to carry the story for several seasons. We love it!!
Such an intriguing and exciting premise to have all the variety of the Sense8 cluster connecting with one another telepathically as a new firm of human being. Also appreciate their indivdual support partners as well. This is must watch TV for me and thrilling to have Season 2 up and running. Strongly motivated to have another season and then more. Netflix really rocks this one!
