What’s This TV Show About?
On the Shadowhunters TV show, young Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) celebrates her 18th birthday at a New York City nightclub and sees a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities attacking a demon. She realizes that she is the only person who can see them and later learns that she’s one of a long line of demon hunters. When her mother, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) is kidnapped, Clary must join other hunters to try to save her. All the while, she is learning about her new supernatural abilities. The rest of the Freeform cast includes Matthew Daddario, Alberto Rosende, Dominic Sherwood, Harry Shum Jr., Emeraude Toubia, and Isaiah Mustafa.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Shadowhunters averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 648,000 viewers. Compared to the season one, that’s down by 38% in the demo and down by 32% in viewers. Learn how Shadowhunters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On April 21, 2017, Shadowhunters was officially renewed for a third season which will debut April 3, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
While the second season of Shadowhunters has dropped off considerably, it is still in the top half of Freeform’s programming slate. Freeform has cancelled and renewed shows doing both better and worse than Shadowhunters. It also seems to fit with the Freeform brand. At this time, I suspect Shadowhunters will be renewed for a third season.

I really hope they realise season 3! I love shadow hunters more then anything! Can’t wait for season 3!
I really hope they don’t leave the show with the cliffhanger from season 2. That would be a shame.
I luv Shadowhunters! I have read all the books and i think its time to get a move on and let Clary and jace know they can be together. That was a favorite part in the book and now im ready to see it or im probably going to stop watching.

I am really hoping they renew for Season 3 (and more!) because I love the show!! I read the books as fast as they were released and only discovered Shadowhunters a few days ago. I watched both seasons in 3 days and am LOVING watching the pages of one of my all-time-fav books series come to life! PLEASE RENEW FOR SEASON 3!!
I love the show . too. It does not really go after the books but it is a god show and I start loving nearly all charakters. Please go on !!!
