What’s next in store for Shadowhunters? Showrunner Ed Decter recently spoke to TVLine about the end of season one and the future of the Freeform TV show.
The supernatural series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, a teenager who discovers she is part of a long lineage of demon hunters. Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Matthew Daddario, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa, and Harry Shum, Jr also star.
Speaking to TVLine, Decter said fans can expect some surprises in season two:
The goal in the writers’ room is to make the fans feel like we’re not going to end up in the place they’re expecting, then surprise them with how we get there. We try to keep some surprises for the hardcore fans who initially ask “What are they doing? Why are they doing this?” The hope is that they eventually come to a point where they say, “Oh, I get it. I see what they were doing before.”
He also said the upcoming season will introduce new characters:
Some characters we’ve met go through giant transformation. Simon’s girlfriend Maureen has a lot in store for her, and there’s a lot in store for Jocelyn and Luke. There will be new characters we meet as well, including the Seelie Queen. We’ll start building into each of the realms in a different way.”
What do you think? Did you watch the season one finale of Shadowhunters? What do you hope happens in season two?
I agree we know they are not siblings so come on
I loved this series. It is so what I imagined from the books. I can’t wait for the next part.
That was supposed to say Jace .
I would like to see Clary and Have discover the truth and realize that they aren’t siblings and continue on with their relationship and become a strong team.
I have to agree, I don’t want to see the siblings nonsense dragged out like it was in the books.
