SPOILERS! The third season finale of FOX‘s Sleepy Hollow TV series, brought the death of main character, Lieutenant Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie. In March of 2015, FOX gave the show an early third season renewal, which was not repeated this year. So Sleepy Hollow is cancelled, right? Not necessarily, according to THR report, based on information from unnamed network sources.
In Sleepy Hollow‘s season three finale episode, “Ragnarok,” Abbie died a hero, sacrificing both life and soul in an effort to defeat Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon). Unlike he had, earlier in season three, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) was unable to save her, and according to Pandora, there is no bringing Abbie back. Offscreen chatter indicates Beharie had been wanting to leave the series for a while.

According The Hollywood Reporter, sources say both that FOX is likely to renew Sleepy Hollow for a fourth season, and that there has been “no talk” of making season four Sleepy Hollow‘s last. The report cites notes that the end of American Idol has left a big hole in the network’s schedule.

In a joint statement, published by THR, producers 20th Century FOX and showrunner Clifton Campbell said:
“The [season] finale featuring the tragic death of Abbie Mills was a very dramatic ending and a bold move for the show, but Sleepy Hollow has always been known for its shocking finales,” producers 20th Century Fox Television and showrunner Clifton Campbell said in a joint statement to THR. “We feel we provided a wonderfully poignant conclusion for Abbie and showed some of the best moments between the Witnesses that we’ve seen onscreen. We thank Nicole Beharie for bringing Abbie and Sleepy Hollow to life. We are currently discussing season four, and should the series be picked up for another season, we have some exciting scenarios and new avenues we want to explore.”

Please, bring back Abbie mills to the show. I love her relationship with crane. I personally was hope for a romance between the two. Don’t kill her off. I Love this show. I so look forward to it. I record it every Friday, so I can watch when iam alone. BRING ABBIE BACK. THE ORIGINAL ACTRESS.

I was not prepared for that ending. It makes me sad that she’s gone. The bond that they had made the show because no matter they would find each other. But with that said, I would love a season 4. The show can’t end like that. If your going to end the show don’t end it with so many questions. I love this show it’s my favorite on TV right now. Please bring it back and make better than ever.
I thoroughly enjoy Sleepy Hollow and the characters. The loss of Joe was hard enough and the realization that Abbie wouldn’t be back. . . so sad. The characters are well developed and the stories are rich. I hope that they will renew for another year as I hate the thought of not knowing what happens to Crane in Washington (Tom Mison is brilliant)!
I very much enjoy this show. Happy to be a Sleepyhead! Will miss the dynamic between Crane and Mills–was easy to watch. I think everyone who writes for this show and prepares all the amazing sets and backgrounds should be highly complemented. I loved Season 2 when they met Benjamin Franklin. This is a great show!

I do LOVE this show and definitely will keep watching. I will miss the chemistry between Abbie and Ichabod, but am excited and curious to see where he goes without her by his side.
My husband and I COMPLETELY LOVE this show!! Abbie or no. I loved her character with Crane, but if she wants to move on, so be i t. There is no other show like Sleepy Hollow, and I pray it goes on for seasons to come1
The whole problem with Sleepy Hollow is that it got “off track” from irs original prenise. The Apocalypse angle had unending storylines within it. I don’t understand why producers felt they had to get rid of characters in ridiculous twists of fate that neither added anything nor made any sense. Ever heard “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it?” The first big jolt to me was ddroppinOrlando Jones. He was a strong voice in promoting the show and creating an aura of excitement. Please don’t cancel the show, I pray the character Abbi decides to come back. I love the chemistry between her and Crane. It through me for a loop to see them grow closer and almost confessing their love for each other then she dies. The show has great writers, there’s away to bring Abbi back, please come back Abbi, take a break and return. Crane needs you, we all need Sleepy Hollow!
Love sleepy hollow. Love the different plots entwined in history. It’s fascinating.I was looking forward to Lt. and Crane falling in love but I’m sure in the next season something may happen when a new women takes her place, I just think it is a show filled with fantasy and reality of history religion and good winning over evil in an adult fashion.
Sleepy Hollow is a great show, with great characters, Abbie, Crane, Jenny. Please renew the show, and let Nicole return whenever she wants. Keep the focus on Sleepy Hollow, the Hudson, references to real American Revolutionary events, and add more time travel for Jenny, Crane, and Abbie if she returns. Please, if there are monsters and bad guys, give them less screentime and fewer lines, and don’t show the monsters clearly. This season the monster/Pandora, while fine actors, had boring lines. I actually resented every second of a secondary character or scene without Abbie, Crane, Jenny.
