Dust off your bellbottoms and black and white televisions, it’s time once again for the annual TV Land Awards — the event that celebrates classic television and characters. The fifth annual ceremony was held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California on Saturday. The show will air this Sunday, April 22nd on TV Land.
As part of the recent ceremony, awards were given to the casts of Roots, Taxi and Hee Haw. In addition, the cast of The Brady Bunch was reunited on stage to accept the Pop Culture Award. Brady clan leader Robert Reed passed away in 1992 but Florence Henderson, Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, Maureen McCormick, Susan Olsen and Ann B. Davis were all there. Wait a minute. Where’s Jan… I mean Eve Plumb?
It seems that, unfortunately, Plumb decided to pass on this particular event. It’s a shame but this isn’t the first time that Plumb, who is now also a painter, has declined to be part of a Brady reunion. In 1977, she decided against being part of the infamous The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Singer/actress Geri Reischl temporarily took over the role of Jan.
That show was pretty awful so perhaps Plumb had some inside info on the latest TV Land Awards. It’s too bad producers didn’t call in Reischl to take her place… or at least cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist). Oh, well. Stay tuned!
I was extremely disappointed that Eve wasn’t there. Who does she think she is? That’s soo immature.
