If you’ve been looking forward to watching The Code TV show on CBS this Monday night, you’re going to be disappointed. The network has pulled the drama series from the schedule. Will it back? Has it been cancelled?
A military legal drama, The Code stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany, and Raffi Barsoumian. The story unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
The first season of The Code debuted in April drew pretty low ratings, right from the start. The eight aired episodes have averaged a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.10 million viewers in the live + same day ratings. It’s one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted shows of the 2018-19 season.
The Code has been pulled from the schedule and will, for the immediate future, be replaced by reruns of Magnum PI. Right now, the plan is for The Code to return on Monday, July 1st, but those plans could change.
While The Code hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, CBS pulling the series from the schedule certainly points in that direction. Some of the series’ small audience will get out of the habit of watching the program and the first week in July is traditionally one of the lowest-watched weeks of television. The ratings for the next episode will be much lower than they have been.
If there was any hope of The Code surviving to see a second season, I think this move makes it clear that CBS has given up on the series.
What do you think? Do you like The Code TV show? Do you think it will be cancelled? Would you watch season two?
I really like this show, being ex-military, it brings back good memories!!!
Love the show! Please don’t cancel!
It is not as good as JAG was. Also Colonel Eisa Turnbull’s uniform does not appear to regulation. Never seen a uniform reach the elbows
Please don’t cancel this show. My husband is a USMC Veteran and we both Love watching this show. It’s sad to see great shows get cancelled while some dumb ones get renewed. Please do not cancel this show.
CBS please don’t cancel The Code, basically is a good show. Tweak it fix but don’t replace it with another reality show like Big Brother, that a boring show.
My husband and I really enjoyed THe Code please bring it back!!
I just binged watched all available dvr recordings and I really like it! Its a bummer that it may be taken off. The reason I hadn’t watched it yet was because of the many other shows I was watching. Too bad, I hope it stays.
My son and I like the Code. Please do not cancel…. we don’t watch the reality stuff . Thank you Lorraine And Leo
Think it sucks they took it off and put on repeats of bogus magnum pi
Both my husband, a retired Coast Guard Veteran and I look forward to The Code weekly. CBS is making a mistake by cancelling this series. Those of us who do not fit into the reality program genre or some of the other silly themed shows running appreciate The Code.
Agreed as above. The Code is a serious well thought series with a mature theme unlike so many other shows that are simply copycats of prior sitcoms. Please don’t cancel.
I am a former US Marine, I am one who truly enjoyed this show. Finally a show that shows a different side of the Marine Corps. I literally sat down with my snacks ready to watch to be disappointed that it was not going to air and now after research, to find this out, is very disappointing.
Please don’t cancel “The Code”.
Everytime i love a show it gets cancelled, please dont cancel this one too.
I hear ya, too many times a show I get really into gets ripped away! Not cool! What do they expect their ratings to be? Especially for newly added shows, viewers need a few weeks to get a “feel” for a show first, to be able to make an opinion and build interest for!
What’s up with this 18 to 49? There are people in other age groups who like the shows
Don’t cancel The Code. I really like this show and the actors in it.
I thought the show was great!
Please don’t cancel The Code, Love the show!
