A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
Nope. Not happy with change. Miss Dr. Travis, and even Dr. Orton’s infamous smirk.
Lost me as a viewer.
Not impressed and was disappointed in the new show! Dr. Ian was nice but not the same. Won’t be watching it much.
I doubt it. I’like the previous format where there was a discussion Between different types of doctors. I think you get more knowledge when you have many different types of doctors surgeons ER doctors neurologist OB/GYN etc..
Just deleted today’s recording and cancelled the series recording from my DVR.
I did the same. No longer interesting and entertaining.
I deleted it from my recording schedule, also. No offense, Dr. Smith, but this format just doesn’t do it for me.
So disappointed when I tuned in today. I always looked forward to watching the 3 previous hosts. I couldn’t even watch more than a minute today. So boring. Won’t be watching this show.
Nope. I’m done with the new Drs. Nothing against the new host but you made a big mistake. In these troubling times you took away the one thing we could count on. There’s no human exchange with this new format-something we’re all hungering for during Covid. You fell victim to even more “virtual” reality. We don’t need more of that. Sad.
I respectfully share that this new plan is not an interesting format. Well I enjoyed Dr Ian as a guest this format is not holding my interest n
Not interesting. Need the three reps such as the previous hosts with varied topics.
Hopefully, Jay won’t replace his dad , Dr. Phil with someone that is not Dr. Phil
I have been a long-time viewer since the very beginning of the Doctor’s show. I am not caring for this new format or topics in general. Unless something changes you will be losing this viewer even though I like Dr. Ian / one person with these snippet videos are not enough to hold my interest.
Sorry, but I will no longer be watching the Doctors, it is no
longer the same without the original doctors. Too bad you
changed your format and host .
The show just isn’t the same . Hopefully, the original doctors will come back with a show of their own .
Like the saying goes , if it’s not broken, don’t fix it !
Wow.what a mistake. The Doctor’s was a great show with great co-hosts. Will not be watching the new format.
I have always been a fan of The Doctors, but was very disappointed when I saw the new format. I miss the former hosts and the topics they discussed.
Ugh. Turned on one of my favorite shows to find Dr. Ian’s personal talk show. Not a fan. Looking for something else to fill my 2:00 pm void.
I am not a fan of this solo doctor. There was such a nice camaraderie and diversity with the 3 physicians. I was a faithful viewer… sadly I won’t be continuing.
I agree with you 100% , they changed a good thing.
