A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
Not watching anymore. I liked the panel discussion. Loved all the other doctors.
Very disappointed with the new show…. We will no longer tune in for this version…go back to what worked the best….miss the original doctors
Watching show right now, what the show built up over 13 years is being thrown out, this is bad !
Whose brainiac idea was it to change the format after 12 seasons. Looked forward to each show and even set my DVR in case I was unable to watch. One good thing to season 13. I can free up my DVR for something else. I do not like the new format and totally lost all interest!
BORING! Bring back the old cast. I know my husband and myself will not be watching this new format. We love the other doctors. Maybe they will be picked up by another network.
Dont mind the new host.but you need more doctors at the table. I thought it was boring. Not sure im gonna watch it again
Boring. I quit watching after 5 minutes. The old format was so much better. You should have kept the old stars who had personality and knew how to entertain and inform at the same time.
Will not watch the new show. Liked the format and hosts from the original show.
No I was shocked to turn on the TV and I was a little bit confused at first. I thought I had the wrong channel but then I saw the banner that said the doctors, if this is the new show for the doctors I will not be watching it’s not the same. Sorry to say that it’s no longer the doctors the three of them.
I was disappointed when I tuned in for The Doctors yesterday. I was hoping this wasn’t the new permanent version but seems that it is. I watched the Doctors daily and looked forward to it; often shared things that were on with others that might benefit from some of the information. While I have seen the new person on episodes in the past I don’t feel inclined to watch just him every day. I agree with a previous post that perhaps he could have been added to the panel rather than replace the entire old group.
I do not like the new version of the doctors and will not
Be any longer watching
I want the original cast back. It was more informative and entertaining.
No I will not be watching the show do to the format change.
My thoughts on the new format are That the show is Blah! I don’t think you’ll have any award winning show with this format.i believe that the panel of doctors you had ,had chemistry while being very informative to its viewers. Why would you change something that isn’t broke? I’m sure the producers could have done something different without removing the doctors that we have come to know, trust and love! Very disappointed. Lost my interest in the show!
I watched new show .I like the old format .Why change a good thing.
