A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.

THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
I will not watch the new show. I’ve been missing the old cast all summer, very disappointing. Why was there no notice of the change.
Will not watch the new show. I tried to watch it twice and it is not nearly as good as the original! I don’t like the change!!!
I watched the new format and will not be a regular viewer. I prefer the previous first and hosts.
What happened to the former cast of your award winning show? I had never even heard a whisper about changing the show, and when I tuned in this week I was so disappointed! I have loved the playful interaction of the old cast. This new format does not hold my interest. I will not be tuning in.
New format is not for me. Wont be watching anymore.
Just NO!!!! Not gonna watch. Boring
I’m Gone. Don’t know why you would change what worked. Now the show is boring. You lost this viewer. You also did away with the Chew, guess I have to completely switch stations for my daytime programming!!!
Nope, if I wanted a one person talk show I would watch one of the MANY available. Nothing wrong with Dr Smith. If he was on there with the other Docs and there was some personal interaction, he would fit in fine. I watched a couple days but it’s just not as inviting as the other show/format. Personally, I think everyone is pretty TIRED of interaction thru videos or a zoom format. Bring back the human interaction. I will no longer be watching and will thoroughly miss the “old show”.
I like the new change!. Dr Smith seems to be very personable and intelligent. I am curious to see who he adds to the show down the road. This curiosity will keep me watching.
Will not be watching the new format. Enjoyed the old one and the doctors involved. Please consider going back to the former.
So sorry to see the “crew” disappear from the show. The ensemble made the rapport so appealing. Good luck to Dr. Smith, et al. I did watch the first few shows and I am not
impressed with the subject matter and coverage. Buzzy
Horrible new format. Enjoyed the former cast. Always interesting and informative. New one person host is boring. Will no longer watch until old cast returns. Your change ruined a very good show
I will not watch the new doctors show. Why couldn’t leave this show alone.
Very sad. I looked forward to this program. Watched new format for 2 days. Will NOT watch again. Bring back the old group please
Dr Smith is good but his format is not gonna keep your ratings up. The 3 drs and their interactions is what made the show. Dr smith is informative but not someone I would listen to for an hr. I watched first couple of shows and not watched since. Bad call on format.
Dr. Smith is informative but miss the other show with the 3 doctors probably won’t watch anymore.
