A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
I do like the new show. Dr Ian is really informative. I was not a huge fan of the old show because there wasn’t enough information. I would not watch everyday but haven’t missed an episode in the new look. Please don’t cancel it, everyone give it a chance.
It’s an Emmy winning show why would you change it? This format is boring and we don’t like it.
This really sucks! I don’t see this going more than one season. People are pissed. We are used to the debating and views of all the doctors. Learning much more and learning from the show. This new format is a joke. Your fans are gone. Watch for the end coming very soon.
We used to enjoy the show. Now it is boring….. Dr. Ian may be an expert but there is no personality there. And the “state of the art studio” is sterile and cold. Sorry, but I think your Emmy award winning status is going to be gone very soon. This show really sucks now!!!!!!
I do not like the new show! It lacks the variety and various professional controbutions from the panel of doctors. What a mistake to take them off! I will not be watching the new show!
I do not like this new show! I will not be watching this doctor. I am taking it off my Facebook!
Don’t like the new show. Miss the doctors that were on before
Will miss Dr. Travis and Dr. Ordon. Would like to know what they are now doing.
Not liking the new format. Love Dr. IAN
I think the new The Doctors show will fail. The previous doctors were informative, interesting and also entertaining – the opposite of this new Dr. Ian _______. Everyone know will stop watching this boring show and unremarkable host. Too bad – they had a good thing going and shpild have let well enough alone – this is a change for the worst and you will lose many viewers.
I have been watching the new show. SAD to say “ ITS BAD “. It looks like that you really tried to save money. Bring back the old format. Bring in a NEW cast of doctors . Only a matter of time. It will be cancelled.
Dr. Ian is absolutely fantastic, what is so appealing is the fact that he’s about getting the fact out to the viewing audiences and not obsessed with himself. I would love to see a show with him and Dr. Travis, I think they would bring so much information and up-to-date on new products and procedures. Congratulations Dr. Ian Smith!!!
I watched the newly formatted show today for the first time and struggled not to turn it off. Dr. Ian is trying to fill the shoes of some very successful predecessors. Very few people are supporting the new show. Sad. But, it does seem like Dr. Travis was ready to move on and had decided to leave the show prior to the new format being established. Based on mostly negative feedback the new format is receiving, it looks as though this show is doomed. It may be cancelled before it has a chance to win people over. Time will tell.… Read more »

I’m sure The cast of Dr’s were ready for a Change, but the Average Person, especially Older Folks Do Not Like Change. The old panel of Doctors Had Great Chemistry, sorry to see them Go, therefore So Will I!!!!
