A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
I was shocked that the entire cast was gone. I love docs Stork and Orden. Blah without them. No longer recording if I’m gone and barely watching 10 minutes of new format when I’m home (most days).
Miss the old hosts, waiting for Travis baby
I miss the original format and the original cast. It was interesting and informative. One doctor can’t compete with the original cast.
Hello
I was shocked to not see my favourite Doctors on the show! Having watched the show with Dr Smith my opinion is this was not a good idea!
I looked forward to watching the 4 Doctors and it was fun, serious and very informative. Will not be watching this new format! Nothing at all to do with respect to Dr Smith, but being alone will not work in my opinion ‘
I will not be watching the new doctor show it is very sad to see that the doctors were replaced by one I miss Dr. Travis Lisa and Andrew and the others so sad but I will not be watching the show it is very boring I couldn’t even stay 10 minutes watching it
I was surprised when I saw the new format. It’s strange to see one person, and it doesn’t work without a live audience and other doctors on the set. There really is no replacement for face-to-face human interaction–even in a digital age.
My wife and I do not like the new format. They could have made changes within the existing format.
I do not like the new format at all. I loved Dr. Travis and the repour he had with the other Doctors. The replacement Dr. may be qualified but his voice is annoying and the whole format is boring. I will not be watching the new show.
I’m so sorry to see the original show of the Drs being canceled. The new version doesn’t work. We watched a few times and will not in the future. Please reconsider, all change is not progressive or positive. Such a shame.
I think the new The Doctors show will fail. The show is boring, so is the doctor – it stinks. The old show was both informative and entertaining (both are important to hold viewers interest) this new one is so boring, many viewers I know have stopped watching it – what were you thinking in making this change, definitely a wrong move. Take this Dr Ian off the show ! ! !
Hate it. Not a fan. Will no longer watch.
The new format is boring uninteresting and addressing topics that really have to do with medicine turned it off finished
Sorry – do not like the new show. Very disappointed in the new format. Will not be watching.
Very disappointed. Really miss the old format and friendly doctors. It was a great program before. Wish it was back on especially during this pandemic.
I am very disappointed in the new format. It is boring and I will not watch it now. I am going to miss Dr. Travis and the other doctors. I really learned a great amount of medical information from them. This was my fav daytime show.
