A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”
“Trustworthy and straightforward medical news has never been more important. THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
I will not watch more on COVID and I loved the old cast. No, no.
No will not watch…love the show with Drs Stork and Ordon. Big mistakes taking them off!!!
A HUGE mistake…….check the ratings of pro football and see what a dive of people watching that has taken……I’ll be joining the group who will either be looking for something else to watch or so……and in case you are responsible for Drew Barrymore that would be a minus for me also.
Not too impressed with the concept. I suppose the name of the show will change to the Doctor. Unless he has other guest doctors on the show such as Dr. Stork, Dr. Orton and others. I don’t want Covid-19 survivor mode as the solitary emphasis.
I will not be watching the new show. I like the current doctor hosts; they are like friends. What better ones could be found? It seems that when we have a good show, producers think it is time to bring in another one of these women-host “talk and sing” shows–too many already!!!–or another reality show disaster. It’s refreshing to see good conscientious doctors like Travis Stork, Sonia Batra, and Nita Landry who have good values and are NOT AFRAID TO LET OTHERS SEE THESE VALUES. I find them all very honest and frank in what they say. They are not… Read more »
I will miss the previous cast.
I will not watch new show.
I will not watch. I enjoy the show as is. I like the current doctors. Why ruin a good show?
I don’t think I’ll be watching the new show at all
I am going through grief already during this time and those doctors were a part of how I got through my mornings. I live alone and looked forward to the interactions and information provided by Drs. Stork, Ordon, Batra, and others every day. I am sure Dr. Smith is well-credentialed, but you’ve lost me as a viewer already and I will miss the timely information I received from the previous hosts. What were you thinking CBS?!
I agree with Debbie. I understand the importance of the Covid-19 information, but there are a lot of shows with this information. Enough already! This show was educational on MANY relevant topics. This is a mistake. I won’t be watching.
Will not watch anymore ! I have watched since season 1! To take Dr Travis Stork off when he made that show what it is. He and Dr. Ordon are the best together. I don’t like watching Dr Ian Smith , He is very egoistical.. So bad decisions Jay McGraw you will lose viewers because you just lost one .
Not happy about this at all! Getting rid of who we are comfortable with and giving us a stranger telling us how we should live our lives is a bad idea! Will you be dropping the s from The Doctors. No, I won’t watch new format! I wont even give it a chance.
I think it is absolutely horrible that you took Dr Travis Stork, Dr Andrew Ordon & others off the show. They gave informative information and all worked together as a family which we need in these times. We already have a show on ABC dealing with the pandemic and its aftermath (GMA). We do not need another. Nothing against Dr Ian Smith but I feel with this subject content you will loose viewers. Why can’t you have him on maybe once a week? Anyways I am not a happy camper because of this situation.
Bring other doctors back.
Never really watched and really won’t watch now, because I find Dr. Ian Smith’s personality grating and very egotistical!! Don’t like him when he guests on The Rachael Ray show, so I definitely won’t be tuning in!!!
I don’t think it will be near as good or entertaining. Bad decision.
