A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”

THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
I have been watching that show when Dr Oz was on it. I will miss that show very much. Make it come back.
I am extremely disappointed, the new format doesn’t thrill me, I enjoy the current format andhosts, especially Drs’ Stork and Ordon. They have a chemistry, they know when to be serious and when to lighten up. I strongly believe it is a big mistake, I can’t believe this drastic change was approved. The producers can do what they choose. But it’s a big mistake when you take a loved program and literally wipe it out. Keeping the name does not ensure continued viewership, you’ve upset many viewers by not considering them.
Good Luck.
I will miss Dr stork, dr ordon, dr nia
No I will not be watching no more. I loved the panel they were so down to earth.
I liked the format, as well as all the hosts. I like medical shows, and will give the new show a look, but I miss the regular show!
I don’t think I will be watching this year. The new format sounds more like am entertainment show then a medical information hour.
I will NOT watch the new show. I am very disappointed. I watched the show because of the people who were on the show who were a great team, personable, and informative. I cannot believe that you would be replacing them after all this time making this a successful show. What was the reasoning behind this change?
Won’t watch the new show. The “old” show was down to earth and very informative on a lot of subjects.
I’m surprised by this change. Perhaps some the viewers would have appreciated advanced warning. I liked the team approach but I’m open to getting another opinion- wish you had keep some of the other mds and added this doctor to mix. Please advise – what time and which channel does Broadcast in NYC area? Thanks.
Nope, will no longer be watching. Loved the regulars that were on and their approach to medical problems. Good bye!
I probably will stop watching if the normal panel are no longer there. I loved the way they fed off each other and the energy they brought to the show. Sorry but losing me!!!!
I am very disappointed that Tbe Doctors are returning without the former hosts. I loved them and they were very informative and entertaining. I will not be watched the new show !
Please do not do this!!! I love watching Travis and Dr. Ordon, especially. Their format, interesting and needed information presented, the fun and loving interaction between the two and the other hosts, the mix of seriousness and fun, and just an enjoyable break each day that I get to have the uplift from them. This is truly disappointing, especially now at a time we seek joy, informative, and good entertainment each day!! Please reconsider!!!! Where are Travis and Dr. Ordon going to go? We don’t need anymore changes!!!! As far as the show replacing The Doctors, I probably will not… Read more »
I’m so disappointed. If the original show and cast are award winning, why did you get rid of what’s working? Why not change a few things but not throw out everything. I just don’t get it and I’m unhappy that what I enjoyed watching is taken away.
I am with you Sandie. I have watched the previous show for years and have always looked forward to watching every morning at 9:00 a.m. I have learned so much. I am in total shock right now. I turned the channel to watch The Doctors and it is not on. I Googled CBS and just learned of this. The previous staff made it fun, comfortable, interesting, knowledgable and I felt like family even though I was not there in person. I am not a happy camper.
I don’t like this at all. I will definitely not be watching the new show. Bring the old Doctors back!
