Season two of HBO’s The Leftovers ends next Sunday. But will there be a third season?
Recently, Indiewire spoke with series co-creator Tom Perrotta about the dramatic shifts in season two and the possibility of another season.
Based on the book of the same name by Perrotta, the series stars Justin Theroux as Kevin Garvey, Jr., a police chief attempting to rebuild his life three years after the world suddenly loses 2% of its population.
So far, the second season has maintained low-but-steady ratings.
Speaking to Indiewire, Perrotta said he isn’t sure yet if there will be a season three.
“We have some vague ideas, but we don’t even know if there will be a Season 3,” he said. “That’s the question we’re waiting to get answered.”
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, star Justin Theroux said he “would love” a third season, but it’s up to the creators—Perrotta and Damon Lindelof.
The season two finale of The Leftovers will air on December 6th.
What do you think? Do you watch The Leftovers? What do you think of season two so far? Do you want a third season?
I agree with Thomas. It is confusing but would like to see what is going to happen next.
I want to get renewed so good just so story is confusing.
