CBS has announced that this is the final season of The Mentalist. The ratings have been coming down for awhile but will they rally for the last 13 episodes? Will the network regret ending the series? Could there be an eighth season after all if the numbers are strong enough?
On The Mentalist, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) continues to help solve tough cases, using his razor sharp skills of observation. How will the relationship of Jane and Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) affect their work? This time around the supporting castmembers are Tim Kang, Rockmond Dunbar, Joe Adler, and Josie Loren.
The higher a show’s ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Final season averages: 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.28 million total viewers.

Last year comparison: The sixth season of The Mentalist averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.14 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like The Mentalist TV series? Do you think it should be ending or should it return for an eighth season?
Mentalist eas a great serie, it was intelligent, funny .I do not know why it had been cancelled.I want this serie back
I really liked the Mentalist show. It actually had some sophistication to the plots which showed some great writing and casting. Most of the new shows out now would not interest a monkey. My plan now is less tv as it insults our intelligence!
I’m sad I really enjoyed that show and all the people like the breath of fresh air liked lie to me too and it’s gone
You Have to wonder if they are reading or listening to us.. My TV is off more then it’s on any more I can’t handle even food commercials any more everything on is either of a sexual or violent setting.. The thing lately I hate most is the commercials for undergarments Who the heck needs to see people in there undies? Sick Sick you people that would take away good programs for the stuff I change channels or turn off my set for
Grow up writers and producers get some good stuff back on TV
AMEN TO THAT!!!
Unfortunately this is exactly where the Hollywood wanted and wants the ship be…
If only the people knew the real
reasons behind all these mind control programming…!
I am so SICK of the damn networks caring only about the “18-49 demographics,” who, by the numbers, show they start caring when you are old enough to buy on your own as an adult at 18-whatever idiotic things the sponsors are selling–and decide they could care less about anyone over 49 because by then people have their minds made as to how they shop—but they think at 48 there’s some glimmer of hope to still catch their eye to buy whatever they are selling but by 50 there’s no hope in sight to make any money off of anyone… Read more »
Wow SUZI, you said it all and more!!! I can’t add anything to your comments!
Suzi, you said a mouthful! When the networks realize that those of us who are OVER their core demographic are the ones spending money on what their advertisers are marketing, it will be too late! These young people are so into their phones, tablets, ipads and video games, they couldn’t care less about what’s on TV unless its blood and gore or sex and immorality or “reality” shows! Give me a good scripted show like “The Mentalist” any day in the week and I will watch. I remember when they dropped Rizzoli and Isles and I now watch that on… Read more »
No need to get worked up, its all the reason for us to stop watching their mad TV and focus our energy on other much more important things in our lives
