To little surprise, CBS has pulled Three Rivers from the Sunday night schedule, effective immediately. Will the show be back? Has it been cancelled?
Three Rivers follows a group of dedicated doctors and medical staffers who help those in need of organ transplants. The series stars Alex O’Loughlin, Katherine Moennig, Daniel Henney, Justina Machado, Christopher Hanke, Amber Clayton, and Alfre Woodard.
The medical drama got off to a slow start in the ratings back in early October. Unfortunately, the numbers only got worse as the weeks wore on and it became a likely candidate for early cancellation.
To CBS’ credit, the network has been patient with the series and has kept it on the air. Two weeks ago, the network tried switching timeslots with Cold Case. While the veteran crime drama benefited from the time change and attracted more viewers, Three Rivers did not.
Three Rivers has now been pulled from the Sunday night schedule. As expected, Cold Case will slip into the earlier timeslot and repeats of various crime dramas will take over at 10pm.
A CBS spokesperson has said that Three Rivers’ fate has not yet been decided but the network has not ordered any additional installments beyond the initial 13 episodes.
Eight episodes of the drama have been aired, leaving five on the shelf. CBS will likely burn them off either on Saturdays or during the summer months but, unless the execs have a major change of heart, Three Rivers is essentially cancelled.
What do you think? What went wrong with Three Rivers? Is Sunday night football to blame for the show’s failure to attract more viewers or was the show flawed?

I agree..I’m so sick of reality TV ..I loved 3 Rivers..please bring it back..give it a chance..I think if more time was spent marketing these shows that it would draw a bigger audience. Many are not watching these shows cause they dont’ know they exist.
I really enjoyed the TV show “Three Rivers”. I was shocked to find that it was canceled.
Please bring the show back and put it on a different night instead of Sunday. Sunday being a football night, the show always got aired at a later time and a lot of people missed it.
Loved the show “Three Rivers”! I think it’s really a shame it got taken off only to be replaced with reruns and junk (those so called “reality” shows). It is an awesome show and I hope you re-consider and put it back on!
Excellent show. Can’t believe it cancelled. Tried of all the other trash out there. Management needs to get it together
Please bring it back!!!!
We LOVED the show! PLEEEEEASE bring it back!
please bring it back. you, cbs, have some great shows. how about a time slot n0t in competition with football.
We loved three rivers it was a great show and a nice break from all those crappy reality shows, they need to bring it back.
I just kept thinking they were coming back after the holidays. Wow, I really liked that show. Its a shame they took it off. Seems like all the good ones really never get the chance to prove themselves. Hopefully, someone in the Know will try to bring it back. It really struck home with me. It is the only show that I know of that goes out and looks for donors and retrieves the vital organs. I really thought that was so realistic. But what do I know. Only that I enjoyed it tremendously. My husband and I liked the show very much. We hope CBS has a change of heart and keeps it on.
I agree! There’s plenty of trash on television, and all of the good ones get cancelled. I’m very disappointed.
I am very disappointed that Three Rivers has been cancelled. I really enjoyed the show. I am tired of reality TV, there is enough “reality” all day, I want to be entertained by good drama at night!!!
Why dont they try a different day and a earlier time
I really enjoyed Three Rivers, as did my husband. Shameful that good drama is being replaced by “reality” shows.
