Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
I just binged on season 1 of Pure Flix’s “Ties That Bind”; looked for season 2, and you know the rest. I enjoyed this series immensely and was terribly disappointed when I ran into the unforeseen cliffhanger. Perhaps if we could bring more families together with these sorts of shows, there would be less criminal activity going on in our world. But UP is substantiated proof of folk who call “good” “evil”, and “evil” “good”, based on the types of shows they continue to show and those they continue to cancel. UP, I beg you to hear the voice of… Read more »
I’m a 68 year old grandmother that has recently binged on all the episodes and enjoyed everyone. I especially enjoyed the teenagers.
Wow figures, a good family show….cancelled by people that rather have trash!
Is there a way we can petition to have it renewed???
So disappointed that this show was canceled great story line and the family going through real life situations
Would love for hula are Netflix to pick or even pureflix
PureFlix does have season 1. Hopefully they will put out at least a few more seasons.
I just found the show and was enjoying a family-oriented police show that my whole family could watch! SO disappointed!
What??? It was a good family show even though it was a cop show! Why would UP TV do that?? I am so sick and tired of these networks drawing viewers in with these new shows then canceling!!!!! I am about ready to get rid of cable and stick with NETFLIX . Maybe NETFlix will pick it up
So I watch the 1st season and was expecting more, and now disappointed because UP has decided to cancel!! What a pitty, I was looking forward to this series
I am sorry to hear it was cancelled. I really liked it.
Sorry to hear that season 2 has been cancelled. I watched all of the first season and was looking forward to the next. I hope Up will reconsider. Not many shows get a strong following that quickly.
I enjoyed the show sorry to see it cancelled would like up to reconsider
Love this show! Just found it in Pureflix 2 weeks ago, and I’m about to finish season 1. One of the best shows ever. I would love to have season 2.
Please bring back Ties that Bind!!!! Please!!!! This show brought our family together.
Enjoyed the show. Was looking forward to another season. Hate to hear that yet another good, family-orientated show is gone.
It figures; one great show that has a good family experience and how others truly care for each other and it is taking off the air. To the producers, wirters, production staff and team of actors THANK YOU!! and all the best to you!
