You guys wanna get Rufus back, or what? NBC, which cancelled its Timeless TV show in the wake of an enormous season two finale cliffhanger, is bringing back the Lifeboat for one more trip through time. The Peacock Network announced today that it has ordered a two-part Timeless TV series finale, which is expected to air during the winter holidays. The #Clockblockers have prevailed against the malign forces of Rittenhouse, if in a smaller way than most had hoped.
An NBC action-adventure series, Timeless stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey, and Claudia Doumit. As the Time Team, their mission is to prevent the destruction of the world as we know it, by villains intent upon messing with the timeline. Susanna Thompson, Annie Wersching, and Michael Rady recur in season two as members of the nemesis organization, Rittenhouse. NBC officially cancelled Timeless last month. And that was the second cancellation. The time travel drama was also cancelled, then renewed following its first season on the network.
Cancelled TV Show Timeless Renewed for a Two-Part Series Finale
Fans, who style themselves “#Clockblockers,” have been rallying hard for a continuation of the Eric Kripke-Shawn Ryan drama, since prior to the season two finale. Recently, the Save Timeless team hired a helicopter (or ‘heliclockter’) to fly a banner over San Diego Comic-Con. (Footage is sideways.)

NBC RESHAPES HISTORY WITH TWO-PART ‘TIMELESS’ SERIES FINALE
The Time-Traveling Gang Get Back Together One Last Time for Holiday Television Event
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – July 31, 2018 – Hey Clockblockers, your mission is complete!
NBC and Sony Pictures Television are collaborating on a two-part “Timeless” finale to air during the holidays, giving closure to the globetrotting series that has generated incredible viewer passion.
According to executive producers Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, audiences can expect the “Timeless” they know and love. A focus on the unsung and underrepresented people of history. And most importantly, one final emotional story for the Time Team.
“We’re excited to tell one final chapter to this incredible story,” said Lisa Katz, Co-President, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment. “A huge thank you to all – our cast, crew, producers and partners at Sony – who have worked so very hard, and to the fans who kept us on our toes and made sure we did our very best week after week.”
“While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of ‘Timeless,’ this is the next best thing,” said Ryan and Kripke. “We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”
The cast includes Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.
Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke are the creators, writers and executive producers. Tom Smuts and Arika Lisanne Mittman are co-showrunners and executive producers. Don Kurt, Greg Beeman, John Davis, John Fox and Marney Hochman also executive produce.
“Timeless” is a production of Sony Pictures Television, Davis Entertainment, MiddKid Productions and Kripke Enterprises.
What do you think? Will you watch the Timeless TV series finale, this winter, on NBC? Will that be enough? Let us know, below.
I absolutely loved everything about this show and sad to see it end, however, will most definitely watch the finale.
I am pretty shocked this series was cancelled. The acting and plot is fantastic, and I love the historical aspect of it. Honestly, I don’t understand how such a quality show can be cancelled, it makes no sense to me. However, I am glad they are going to put an ending to it, instead of leaving things hanging.
Loved the show, very upset and mad about the cancelling.
Is this happening?
I will watch the two part season finale, but I’m sad to see it go. I love anything about history and I love anything about time travel, and when you combined the two I was in heaven. I’m very sorry to see Timeless go.
I will
On of my favorite series and you cancelled it? There’s to much in history for this show to be cut off like that. I enjoyed this show! I liked how it taught you history in a fun time traveling adventure. You left s ton of things hanging! You can kill off most the cast, but not Writtenhouse! Where is writtenhouse, whose the leaders, did the military wife come back and have her baby? Was the baby a ploy? I wish I remember names(but it’s a weakness I have, but I can see thier faces!). I understand things get cancelled, but… Read more »
Definitely will watch.
Please keep Timeless on air. We enjoy this series based on history!
I don’t watch much TV, but I have certainly enjoyed watching timeless and its retelling of history. I do plan to watch the finale, but I really wish they would continue the series. Most other shows have very little substance to them. But this show has the kind of substance and character that captures your attention and keeps you guessing as to what is coming next.
This show has all of the making of a great movie.
Come on NBC, make time for Timeless!!
YES, YES, YES……..I will but please don’t cancel the series I love it!!! We need shows like Timeless to watch.
I will definitely watch the finale — but I wish they could keep it going. I agree with other commentators that it has really stimulated my curiosity about American history. The adventures are riveting, the acting superb, and the relationships in the series are genuinely compelling. Can’t wait to see how they got around not being in the same place/time as themselves in another time.
You must have been reading my thoughts!!! LOL!!! I feel the exact same way.
Great minds think alike!!
Definitely, will watch. Would like several more seasons exploring alternatives to historical events.
I will watch the finale. I love time travel shows and will miss this one. Loved all of the characters involved. Great show , sorry to see it go.
Ill definately be watching the finale as long as we have a way to access it in Australia. My Mum and i were disapointed that it was cancelled. It was a great show.
Im so sick of the reality tv crap shown on tv so its a shame when something good gets cancelled.
