It looks like it’s the end of the line for courier Frank Martin. Transporter: The Series, which aired for two seasons on TNT, has been cancelled and won’t be returning for a third season.
Based on the feature film series, Transporter is an action-adventure TV show which follows Frank Martin (Chris Vance) — a professional “transporter.” He’s paid to pick up and deliver people or cargo from anywhere in the world. The rest of the cast has included François Berléand, Violante Placido, Andrea Osvárt, Charly Hübner, and Delphine Chanéac.
An international series, Transporter aired for two seasons and 24 episodes between October 2014 and February 2015. Airing on Saturday nights, the action series did poorly on TNT in its first season and the numbers were lower in season two.
There’s been no word on the show’s fate in nearly a year. In a recent interview, executive producer Frank Spotnitz said, “I don’t think it’s going to come back, sadly… It did really well in Canada, but I think in France it was shown immediately after the Charlie Hebdo shootings — I don’t think anybody was watching drama, so it was bad timing unfortunately.”
Though he’s been busy with new projects like The Man in the High Castle, Spotnitz love for the series to return someday, saying, “Everything, I do, I have to love it — I can’t fake it! So yeah, I would.”
What do you think? Are you sorry that Transporter: The Series hasn’t been renewed for a third season? Would you like to see it return some day?
It was getting better and I was lookinglforward to the third season.
Wow once again a great show is gone and this is why i have no satellite every time something good comes on its removed way to go lets make more stupid shows that no one will watch and then maybe we will all turn off our TVs and see how the people making decisions like it when they have no cash in there wallets.
I would love to see the return of Transporter: The Series. I believe it would have had much higher ratings if it had been promoted properly. If the networks aren’t willing to revive it, then I agree that Netflix should consider picking it up.
Great series , love the story line hated that they got rid of Carla and Dieter though. Would definitely like to see it come back for a third season.
I totally agree. The three of them had a much better relationship. I do agree it needed a bit more action, but I did love this show.
This past weekend I watched season 1 and 2 nonstop on Netflix. I enjoyed the concept and the action. Very 007. I enjoyed the fact Frank will never turn down a piece of ass. Season 2 drifted a little from the original character but I was still always anxious to see what the next package will be and how the hell he is gong to deliver. I am pissed I did not get to see the new car perform.
I WANT MORE!!!!!
Damn, I just watched the last episode of season 2 on Netflix. I really hate how a great show like this gets cancelled and leaves fans with their ass hanging in the breeze. I should have learned my lesson by now after getting burned by watching “The Glades” and “Revolution”.
I like the show a lot. I think it didn’t make it due to lack of advertisement as im wa5tchng it on netfix because I wasn’t even aware there was a transporter series
This sucks….this was really great show ! Alot better than some of the other trash shows that they are bringing back. They Exec’s need to get their heads out of the sand. They have no clue about what people really like, they just go by some numbers that only represent a small fraction of the viewing audience.
You can’t end a series without a finally. It’s an awsome show. I would love to see a third season but we at least Need a conclusion from the end of season two. If no one want to pick it up then netflix should.
very entertaining show please bring it back
great show, was waiting for it 2 come back on, such a shame its not, loved it … PLEASE BRING IT BACK XXXXXXXXX
Great show it will be missed!!
Sorry to hear Season 3 is not going to happen ….. for the moment
I vote a definite yes for a season 3 – if only to see what happened after the last episode of Season 2
I became a good fan of this show – as I understand it, season 2 ended on an ambiguous cliffhanger – so maybe a one-off TV movie to wrap it up would be nice!
Love the show. Very entertaining
