True Blood could soon be on a Broadway stage near you. The HBO series ended its run at the end of seven seasons on the network, but there is word that a musical is currently in development.
TV Line reported that Alan Ball, the man that brought the series to life, is involved with the project. The news outlet shared the following about the True Blood musical:
“The musical is set in the same little Louisiana town as the long-running supernatural drama and the script could use a heavy edit; still, the music and the book is ‘fun.’”
Nathan Barr, the man behind music for the popular series, is also behind the music for the musical. Music played such an important role on the series, so a musical is not all that surprising.
Would you go see this musical if it ends up being created? Were you a True Blood fan? Tell us what you think.
I loved the series! I was so sad to see it end. It felt like someone close died, but there was no closure.
I wouldn’t walk across the street to see anything related to this show. The books started out wonderful, but deteriorated into crap by the end. Same with the show. I don’t trust Charlaine Harris or Alan Ball to run a flea circus much less make something worth reading/watching.
