Today brought good news for Switched at Birth fans as the series was renewed for a fourth season. Unfortunately, the news wasn’t good for fans of the Twisted TV show. It’s been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season.
A mystery/thriller series, Twisted revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.
The pilot episode of Twisted aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly started falling again.
The cable channel split the season into two parts and, starting in February of this year, gave it the advantage of airing after Pretty Little Liars, their most popular show. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to help and the ratings got worse and worse. The final two episodes of the season drew just 726,000 and 773,000 viewers.
TVLine now reports that ABC Family has pulled the plug on the Twisted series, leaving viewers with a lot of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you think that Twisted should have been renewed for a second season? Are there any ABC Family shows you would have cancelled instead?
Bring Twisted back. I loved that show and it ended with us viewers wanting more. It should really have another season. I want to know what happens next!
Why would they end it? Switched at birth should have ended because I think twisted is 20 times better than switched at birth. Please make season two for the unhappy fans that will never have there favorite show solved.
i only watched the last to episodes of the show but instantly fell in love with it and i want to go back a finish it from start to finish.
i only just heard of there being no season 2 of twisted and sadly to say i’m a little disappointment as there is still so much to find out and discover that i really hope it wont be cancelled and i hope that season 2 will air such a good show that it has me hooked for more and more.
Well, this is why I don’t like watching shows that don’t have at least 2-3 seasons. And even then, I only watch on Netflix so I know what I’m getting myself into. My brother kept bugging me to watch it and now this. Not surprised at all.
I’m very very angry about them canceling Twisted for switched at birth i much rather have twisted they left us with soo many questions i really hope they make another season but honestly when i heard of them canceling Twisted i was ANGRY AND DISSAPOINTED
This is why I don’t watch ABC Family. They always do this. Thanks again for the let down.
This is so stupid!!!!!
this was such a good show, i’m honestly so dissapointed. I’d rather they cancelled switched at birth (which i also watch) or some other show, i’m angry that we will never be able to find out what happens in the second season.
I really liked twisted. Since you canceled it I am going to stop watching the rest of the Foster’s to. Because you will probably cancel that before It’s over to. If you were going to cancel a show it should’ve been switched at birth instead. Because that show has become boring. At lease twisted always had you at the edge of your seat to see what was going to happen next!
This is so stupid!!!!!
This really sucks! Switched at Birth should be cancelled and twisted should be renewed. Switched at Birth is honestly getting boring because it’s no longer about the switch, it’s now just some stupid soap opera about a family with issues. Twisted; however, is still on the same track as it was from the very beginning, they are still trying to find out all of Vikram’s secrets.
This is an outrage. ABC Family, give this show A CHANCE. This same thing happened to The Lying Game…
Go figure, yet another reason not to tune into a network that I only tune into when they actually air shows worth watching, and not moldy oldie movies that have been edited for tv and have far too many commercial breaks. I never missed an episode of Twisted, and have been eagerly awaiting the next season…. It is a good thing that I have thousands of books to read, and hundreds of movies in my library. Because, with each passing year, there are fewer and fewer reasons to watch tv anymore, even with full cable. No more Twisted, no more… Read more »
This is so typical of ALL the networks. If you end a season of ANY show with major cliffhangers you should at the very least bring it back to bring closure. I really hate even starting to watch a new show on any network because this happens way too often. I understand the need for ratings but these networks need to understand that most people are reluctant to watch new shows for fear of their cancellation. Shows should not be judged on one season and breaking up a season like they did will always cause problems with those ratings!
I’m very upset about this! I really get into a show and then they cancel it! ABC Family seems to have a habit of doing this. I don’t even know why I should start watching a new show on that channel!
This is so annoying. I’m glad they cancelled Rosewood because that show had a terrible camera, bad effects, and the storyline was just absurd. This was actually kind of good, and I’m sad to see it not return for season 2.
