Last year, ABC Family introduced three new dramas — Twisted, Ravenswood, and The Fosters. Ravenswood (a Pretty Little Liars spin-off) has been cancelled while The Fosters has been renewed. What will become of Twisted?
Airing on Tuesday nights, Twisted is a mystery/thriller series that revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.
The pilot episode aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly fell again but ABC Family ordered 10 additional episodes of Twisted anyway. That decision may have been influenced by the fact that they had recently cancelled Bunheads and The Lying Game.
When the second half of the season kicked off in February and viewership nearly hit a new low, despite the fact that it had popular Pretty Little Liars as a lead-in. Last week, when Twisted no longer had that strong lead-in, viewership hit an all-time low with just 726,000 viewers.
The second half of the season averaged 1.11 million viewers. Ravenswood was cancelled with higher viewership. Based on these numbers, it’s looking unlikely that ABC Family will order a second season of Twisted.

I am 39 years old and I love Twisted, please do not cancel this show. I get so tired of investing my time in a show and really liking it just to have it cancelled. Not every one has a stupid Nielson box.
Hey Tara. I’m 40 and I love this show. I watch it every week with my 12 year old daughter. She got me hooked on it. I agree with you about investing your time into a show and then having it cancelled. This happens to me all the time. That is why I stopped watching TV. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Pleasse dont cancel ! I really like this show. And the ending whas so good, and shocking. you can not end this now as it just gets better and better. This series is the last thing I see every time it comes out, because then I know I have something to look forward to before I go to bed. there must be a season 2
Please don’t cancel this show its my favorite show and it just started getting good especially with that finale i think it deserves to be renewed it’s an awesome show and i absolutely love it. Hope abc family renews it for a second season because it’ll be sad to see Twisted get cancelled.

My daughter have watched every single episode religiously every week and we love the show! We look forward to it every week…Tuesday can’t come soon enough! We have even made comments that we wish it was on every day! We love the twists, it keeps us guessing, keeps us on our toes. I have recommended every one I know to watch it. Please do not cancel the show. We would seriously be heart broken! Plus we love the cast! And now that Danny and Jo are finally going to be together! Yayyy! The show must go on! Please!
Don’t cancel twisted! It had such a mysterious cliffhanger. I want to know what happens next. Cancelling it after last night isn’t right. Give it a chance!
Twisted is so bad now, most people have checked out. Enough of the jo show nobody cares.

Another good show that was on but short lived was Secret Circle.
I agree just as you are getting interested in a show ABC Family cancels it – Ravenswood, Secret Circle and now Twisted. Do they measure all their shows on the PLL ratings that has been on way too long. Give the new shows a chance.
