NBC has broken up with Undateable. Variety reports the network has cancelled the comedy after three seasons.
The sitcom starred Chris D’Elia, Bridgit Mendler, Brent Morin, Bianca Kajlich, Rick Glassman, David Fynn, and Ron Funches as a group of friends struggling with relationships.
Season three, which ended in January, comprised all live episodes. However, even with the popularity of the live shows, the season only received modest ratings, earning an average of 0.78 in the 18-49 demo and 2.746 million viewers.
Though NBC has not officially announced the series’ cancellation, the cast and crew were reportedly notified last week.
4/29 update: The executive producers say the series has not been cancelled.
What do you think? Did you watch Undateable? Do you think the show should continue somewhere else for a fourth season?
Extremely not bucky!
Show was funny, until
It went LIVE. After that, the jokes were forced and the fact that it was LIVE seemed to be the focus, not the quality. Very disappointed.
EXTREMELY disappointed! I laughed out loud all over the floor every week while watching Undateable. Sad to hear that it’s gone. Loved to Periscope during commercials, too! Brilliant!!
Really disappointed…Bill Lawrence best acting and writing since Scrubs.
Genius show – totally disappointed to see it cancelled!
I loved the show. I kept looking for it on Hulu and decided to google it and found out it was cancelled yesterday. I watched the live episodes over and over because they were so funny. I’m a 54 year old female and very sad they cancelled it.
Boo to the cancellation!!! I’m 61 and loved this show.
This makes me very sad even though it was on Friday nights the entire season. NBC still needs their sitcoms to become huge hits.
The best show the network had. This was one of very few shows worth watching on any network last year. The few other sit-coms left on tv are so bad, they are dumbed down to the point of being unwatchable. Keep “Undateable” on until you find another comedy worth producing. There’s too many scripted reality shows and boring drama’s on tv already and no other decent comedy
This really stinks. Why can’t these networks just stick with a good show when they have one? ‘Undateable’ was a great show–especially since they added the gorgeous Bridget Mendler. She was able to show a sexiness that she couldn’t when she was Teddi Duncan on ‘Good Luck Charlie’. Plus, her character added a twist to the show with the bar romance. The show had a unique feel since it went live every week. I loved how they would throw references to events of that day into the show. Everything about being live had a great feel BECAUSE of it being… Read more »
I’m SO upset. This was one of my favorite new shows! NBC should give them another season!
The show is extremely funny and should garner a 4th season.
The exec producer is saying on Twitter that this isn’t true and that a decision will be made next week. If you haven’t already signed the petition on change.org than please do so. #RenewUndateableNBC.
We loved watching this show and enjoyed it’s unique live show!
IKR? That finale with the live flashbacks was amazing!
NBC is dumb AF. They move a show to Friday nights and expects it to maintain its ratings from Tuesdays?
