CBS has brought Undercover Boss back for another season. The ratings have come down quite a bit over the years and the show’s format has remained largely the same since 2010. Are viewers still interested? Will it be renewed for an eighth season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

A documentary reality series, Undercover Boss follows members of major corporations’ upper management as they go undercover in their own company to get an idea of what it’s like to work as a lower-level employee.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The sixth season of Undercover Boss averaged a 1.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.30 million total viewers.
