Move over Outlaw, NBC has cancelled another new series. The spy dramedy Undercovers is ending its run after 13 episodes.
Undercovers revolves around a married pair of former spies who are pulled back into service after their close friend goes missing. The TV show features the talents of Boris Kodjoe, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mekia Cox, Carter MacIntyre, Gerald McRaney, and Ben Schwartz.
The series stumbled right out of the gate and attracted a disappointing 2.1 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 8.7 million viewers. In week two, the demo fell by 24% to a 1.6 rating and the numbers essentially kept on falling. Last night’s episode hit a new demo low with a 1.3 rating and 5.913 million total viewers.
Though NBC ordered four additional scripts in mid-October, the studio suspected that that show’s been doomed for quite awhile. Today, the network made it official — Undercovers has been cancelled.
It remains to be seen if fans of the series will get to see all 13 installments. Seven episodes have aired so far and three more are scheduled for November 10th, November 17th, and December 1st. NBC has a Shrek holiday special scheduled for Thanksgiving eve (November 24th) and The Sing-Off will take over the timeslot on December 8th.
Three episodes of Undercovers will be left on the shelf at that point and the network will decide at a later date if or when they’ll air.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Undercovers is coming to an end? Why do you think it didn’t catch on? How would you have fixed it?

Unfortunately, NBC’s higher-ups missed the boat again. This was an entertaining show that should have been given a better chance to make it. It would be criminal for the network to not bring it back.
maybe BET can take over the show. is that possible?
I cannot believe this show is canceled! We finally get a show that is entertaining and clean.
Everyone I know that watched it loved it. Please reconsider and bring it back. Give it a more positive review, I know once others become aware of Undercovers, they will watch it regurally. We need more shows like this.
I really enjoyed watching the show, even though it was from the DVR. I had my DVR scheduled to record the series. Then my friend from ATL informed me it was being cancelled. Hopefully another network picks it up.
please bring the show back – it is funny, entertaining, creative and one of the few shows that I actually watched. Along with Outlaw!
Please bring it back soooooooooon!
I’m sad to see it go. I watched it every week, always on demand though. I wonder if that affects ratings???
PLEASE DONT CANCEL THIS SHOW… USUALLY THERE IS NOTHING ON ON THE WEEKENDS .. AND DURING THE WEEK ALL THE GOOD SHOWS ARE CLUMPED TOGETHER.. GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE. YOU ALWAYS CANCEL THE GOOD ONES AND LEAVE THE STUPID ONES ON…. TAKE IT FROM THE VIEWS, TRY AND TRY ANOTHER TIME AND DAY .. DONT CANCEL IT.
Nooooooooooooooo….bring it back please. that show was awesome…this is really dissapointing
I am disappointed that this show was canceled. Each time there is a good show on the networks find a reason to cancel it. Please bring it back.
I loved the show. It was smart, sexy, and funny. Maybe USA or TNT will pick it up. Not very smart NBC you had a winner.
I loved the show and was very disapointed that it was cancelled!!
Every time a good show premeires it gets cancelled. I wonder who thew ratings people polled to get the results they got?
NBC often brings out well-written, high quality, well-acted shows that are imaginative and fun to watch–then they fail. Does this network do any marketing? Do they actually give a show a chance to succeed? I’m disappointed NBC. You can write but you can’t seem to sell.
Dam that show is GOOD!!! I think they didn’t give it the push it needed. If they bring it back me and ALL my peps will tune in. Bring it back please!!!
I am so disappo0inted!!!. It seems the network all suffer from ADD. Give the show a chance. I looked forward to seeing it. I am going to miss them. Maybe I can come in to money and bring all the shows that have not been given a proper chance an opportunity for fans to continue seeing it…who knows.
I am going to miss you tremendously…I hope it can be brought back
BRING IT BAAAAACCCKKKK!!! Nice to finally see a respectful couple, strong but comitted male character, and some color (had to say it). PLEASE bring it back. I NEVER watch TV but I watched this show. The network just lost another viewer. Smart.
