Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

im so disappointed i loved the show
My wife’s comment “OMG I loved that show”
on second thought…let’s give the kardashians to erica and maybe they’ll bring it back. reality meets the aliens. now I would watch that reality show!
give it back to sci-fi channel! it would still be on there!
Please, please do a mini-series to wrap up the story line. This was one of the best shows I have ever watched. 🙁
What! Why would they do this to the people. I have been siting waiting for V to return and the show is gone. The same thing happend with flash forward this is getting out of hand. I mean im disappointed to see V is not returning.
I’d really appreciate a 4 hour “wrap-up” of the show. Very creative program.
Very disappointed that networks kill very good TV shows like this when there is so much crap out there. All we have to watch is stupid sitcoms and reality TV and no wonder why this society is so dumbed down at this point. Just hook us up to a feed bag and chain us up. All I can say is thank God for HBO and some non-network cable channels that have some quality content – I watch virtually no network television at this point as a result of the above.
I think that this show was done very well. Promote on g4 or sell to them. The world of 5 channels is dead. I am 40 years old and remember dallas, fantasy island . Those shows survived because we only had 5 major channels. Let me promote the show. I myself could make enough money for ratings to reach mt olympus. Stupid old ways that kill fantastic programs. If anyone listens to me. Put show on android cell phoNe app and watch how quick money piles up. Make the show tmobiles cell phone app. Inception app movie sucjs. Think people… Read more »
Why!!!!!!!’noooooo. I love that show
There were no cliffhangers the serpent is upon us consuming our minds everyday soon it will be apparent to you and the thought present in your minds i can assure you.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the installment of the show only to discover it has been cancelled. What a cliffhanger and a super good scifi. Let us see a finale – please!!!!
This was a great remake. Please at least do a 2 or 4 day mini series to wrap it all up. Loved it.
Thanks abc for canceling the only 2 shows i watch on tv V and brothers and sisters Just produce some more reality shows, i hear the actors are cheaper. This is a prime example why people over the age of 30 are reading more.
well, if abc thinks that they needed to cancel this show because of ratings i hope they like the fact that i will no longer watch their channel at all. How do that do for your ratings?
just Americans getting dumber..stupid reality shows or idiotic comedies that are just not funny. Heaven forbid, people should think out of the box a bit.
