NBC is the last of the networks to air their talent competitions consistently on two nights a week. The ratings have been dropping so could the network start cutting back? How will the series perform this time around? There’s seemingly no chance that The Voice will be cancelled any time soon (season 12 is expected in the spring) but it’s still fun to watch the ratings. Stay tuned.
Hosted by Carson Daly, The Voice singing competition typically airs twice a week — on Monday and Tuesday nights. Longtime coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have returned and are joined by new coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. Team advisors include Bette Midler (Team Blake), Sammy Hagar (Team Adam), Charlie Puth (Team Alicia), and Joan Jett (Team Miley).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
10/18 update: NBC has renewed The Voice for seasons 12 and 13. Details here.
12/14 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The Tuesday editions of the ninth season of The Voice (Fall 2015) averaged a 2.70 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.22 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Voice TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for another season?
Seems like the talent is not as good as it used to be and there are too many contestants with serious experience. This season was boring.
My husband and I love love love the Voice but refused to watch this season with Miley Cyrus. Very sad, we’ve watched the show from season 1. Love all other judges!
Never thought I could watch DWT. Survived the season, very entertaining!!!
It has been a great season. Miley and Alicia were great. Please don’t bring Gwyn back she’s terrible. I do miss pharell though.
This show used to be appointment TV for me and my family. We haven’t watched it once since Miley Sirus has been on. As soon as Miley leaves, we will tune back in.
wow, this show is just BLEEDING viewers each week.down what? 25 percent so far…
I have not missed a season of The Voice, but will no longer watch. Miley’s crying video stating “Hillary deserved to be the president” sent me over the edge.
I will be perfectly honest. When I heard that Miley was coming on board, I thought, I thought that I wouldn’t watch, as most people, but there was also a rumor going around that Adam was leaving. I just couldn’t imagine the show without him,and Blake together. But I was so happy to hear that Adam was still in, that I had to give the show a chance. After all, Its the talent on the stage that really matters. And damn if I wasn’t surprised by Miley’s coaching and mentoring- like a seasoned pro. I’m not crazy about Alicia, but… Read more »
Get rid of Miley. It will do wonders for the ratings.
i really really love Miley as a coach, she is smart and talented, you all need to change those bigots thoughts about this girl, and Alicia is authentic and very smart too, her trajectory helps a lot, i love this season 😀
It’s not bigotry since it has nothing to do with her race, religion, sex, age, or religion. Lack of class is not a protected choice.
I am not watching this season. I can’t stand Miley Cyrus.
wont watch this season hop to see changes next season is it possible Miley could keep her tongue in her mouth or is it an issue with her
Ratings are pointless anymore. Personally, I watch over the internet a day after they air, so for me, it’s Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
I have watched every season since the first. I will no longer watch due to the vulgarity of Miley Cyrus. There are many families that are changing the channel now. So sad to say goodbye. But Goodluck with your future seasons!
Too bad that especially Blake and Adam continue the same old banter. It isn’t funny anymore. Humor is a good thing, using the singer’s time to interrupt one another gets to sound rude and childish after a million times. I put it on mute until the next singer comes out on stage.
Just when I thought I couldn’t like The Voice any better, they add Miley & Alicia as judges. This season is going to be so great & I look forward to many more seasoned!
