We already know that The Voice has been renewed for a 13th season for Fall 2017. However, NBC is reportedly interested in reviving American Idol. Could that mean that they’re considering airing just one cycle of The Voice per season? How will this venerable singing competition do in the ratings this time around? Stay tuned.
Hosted by Carson Daly, The Voice singing competition typically airs twice a week on NBC — on Monday and Tuesday nights. Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys have returned, as has Gwen Stefani after two seasons away. Team advisors include John Legend (Team Adam), Celine Dion (Team Gwen), DJ Khaled (Team Alicia), and Luke Bryan (Team Blake).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/24 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The Tuesday editions of the Spring 2016 cycle averaged a 2.23 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.44 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Voice TV series? Do you think it should have been renewed for season 13 already?
Would love to see Steve Perry from Journey be a judge. That would be very interesting and bring the shows ratings back up. Call him.
Yes! I’m back. Stopped watching when Miley joined. So so happy Gwen is back! I love Blake & Adam. Alicia is growing on me.
