Much like the movie industry, there’s no shortage of comic book adaptations on television these days. There are five live-action DC Comics shows on The CW alone — iZombie, Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
FOX has Lucifer and Gotham and ABC has Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Speaking of the Marvel Universe, Netflix has several of their own shows — Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. On AMC, we have Preacher and the zombie apocalypse of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. Syfy has Wynonna Earp and Cinemax has Outcast.
But, comic books coming alive on our television screens is nothing new. In the past, we’ve had Super Friends, The Tick, Batman, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and many, many more.
We’d like to know, what’s your favorite TV show, past or present, that’s based on a comic book? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
