It’s a sad day when a beloved TV show is cancelled but fortunately, we don’t have to say goodbye to the performers who brought the series’ characters to life. Check out what some of your favorite stars are doing these days…
Look for Ken Howard (Crossing Jordan) on upcoming episodes of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. He’ll be playing the competitor of Rob Lowe (The West Wing) for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Look for a couple of Carnivale veterans to show up on upcoming episodes of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Amy Madigan will play a psychiatrist and Clea DuVall will play a housewife who’s married to Jason O’Mara (In Justice, most recently Men in Trees). New episodes of Grey’s start airing April 24th.
Multi-Emmy Award-winning actor Hal Holbrook (Evening Shade) will be making a guest appearance on NBC’s ER on April 24th. He’ll be playing a terminal cancer patient named Walter Perkins who, despite his illness, remains upbeat and funny and impacts the life of Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic).
James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) will play the mayor of New York City in Tony Scott’s remake of The Taking of Pelham 123. He’ll be acting alongside Denzel Washington (St. Elsewhere) and John Travolta (Welcome Back, Kotter).
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock from the Sun) has been signed to star opposite Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer. The movie tells the story of a young woman who doesn’t believe in love and the young man that falls for her.
Amy Smart (Smith) will play the lead in a CBS pilot from Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting) called Meant to Be’s. In this romantic drama, she’ll play a wealthy NY gallery owner who’s thrown from her 40th-floor balcony on the way to her honeymoon. Before she can go to heaven, she must help others become what they are “meant to be.”
Look for Jennie Garth (What I Like About You) to return to series television in My Best Friend’s Girl for CBS. In the pilot, Tim Peper (Carpoolers) begins dating the ex-wife of his best friend and bike shop partner played by Josh Cooke (Big Day). Eric Ladin (Surface) will play the worst salesman at the store.
Later this season, look for Gerald McRaney (Jericho) to play Angie Harmon’s father on ABC’s Women’s Murder Club. He’ll play a dirty former cop who’s not very popular with police officers, including his daughter. On the upside, Harmon will get a new love interest that’s played by Joel Gretsch (The 4400).
The Hallmark Channel is utilizing a whole bunch of actors from classic series for their upcoming season of original TV movies. Bob Newhart (Newhart) will star in Herb’s Murders. He’ll play a Los Angeles detective who, with the help of his police officer daughter, solves the murder of a publisher.
Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) has been tapped for Hallmark’s The Ride of Her Life movie. In Ladies of the House, Florence Henderson (The Brady Bunch), Donna Mills (Knots Landing), and Pam Grier (Crime Story) star as church ladies who work on a home-renovation project. Stay tuned!
