ABC’s The Lookout: Does It Deserve a Second Season?

The Lookout on ABCABC’s The Lookout is touted as a survival guide that assist modern consumers avoid scams and spend their hard-earned cash wisely. Has it been helpful or a waste of broadcast airtime? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two?

Anchored by Cynthia McFadden and Bill Weir, the ABC News series debuted on May 29th with just a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.14 million total viewers. The demo stayed constistent for the next three episodes while viewership fell. After that, both dropped.

Over the course of the 11 episodes that have aired so far, The Lookout’s ratings have fallen to a low of a 0.7 demo rating and 2.85 million viewers. Not good.

Based on these ratings, it seems highly unlikely that ABC will bring this program back for another season. They can surely get better numbers from a new show or even reruns.

But, what do you think? Has ABC’s The Lookout been helpful to you? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season, because of the helpful information it brings to viewers?

I actually loved the show. I learned many things about buying cars, getting cars repaired without getting scammed, shopping, etc. And, channel surfing the other night I came across Kevin Trudeau, who had been featured as a scam artist on the show. I watched for awhile and he came off as totally honest and convincing. I can see how so many were duped by him. We NEED The Lookout to tell us about people like Mr. Trudeau and others like him and how to make better choices in spending our money. Out of all the shows I’ve watched in the last 5 years, this is the only one that I actually gained anything useful from. Please don’t cancel it!

I loved the show and my sister loved the show but we are over 70. We are more interested in educational programs than the reality stuff. I sure hope they bring it back.

I LOVE this show!! Very informative!! I am not a better consumer. Much more aware of possible frauds in the marketplace. It is a show which can actually help me in the real world!! Please renew it for a second season. How do I contact the show about an issue I would like them to consider investigating??

I agree about the patching of episodes, but this is still my favorite show on TV right now. I think putting it on at 10PM ET is going to make it hard for the east coast to enjoy it.

Yes, if you have gravy between your ears and live in a stump, you should watch the ABC Lookout show. What a yawner with such old news about such old scams .

ABC is now using Nightline cast like comedy wannabe’s used Saturday Night Live.

The young and leggy anorexic’s and the old uglies that won’t retire are mainstays on all the ABC shows.

No wonder the world hates Americans

They keep patching episodes together which is annoying. i.e I’ll be watching an episode I have not seen before and suddenly half way through the episode it’ll have a segment I’ve seen before.
