Burn Notice: Creator Open to Spin-off or Reunion Movie

Burn Notice endsTonight marks the end of Burn Notice on USA Network. After 111 episodes and seven seasons, it’s time to say goodbye to Michael Westen — but it might not be forever.

In a recent interview with TheWrap, series creator Matt Nix says that he’s open to doing either a spin-off or a reunion movie of some kind.

He said, “I would love to do it… The door has been left open intentionally [in the finale], but nobody’s asked me to write a script. If the opportunity ever arose to do something like that I’d be thrilled.”

What do you think? Would you like to see Burn Notice return in some form one day?

I was a huge fan of Burn Notice, but I despised the character played by Sharon Gless. Glad she got vaporized in the finale, which would make any future spinoff or movie even better than the series was!

I would say without any hesitation, that Burn Notice was the best TV show that has been on the air for the last 40 years of my life, hands down. I would be very enthusiastic towards a spinoff AND a full length feature movie – as long as the surviving members of the original cast participated.

Let’s not turn Michael Weston in to Denzel Washington, in the disgusting sort of anti-White maneuver that Hollywood pulled with their Wild, Wild West movie flop, okay?

I’d love to see either the reunion or return of the series. I had just gotten into it as it was ending, and have since purchases DVD’s of season 1 & 2 in addition to having my DVR filled with episodes.

I just stumbled upon this show through reruns. It is AWESOME. Its one of the few great shows on TV. The writer did a great job. I like the fact the whole family can watch it. I believe that Burn Notice could easily run much longer. Since the end left doors open for other story lines to visit, gives the writer many options to keep it going. I think it would be interesting to see what Sam and Jesse can get into but what about life after being a spy, Fiona and Michael as parents with Charlie? I think that would be interesting. Please bring it back!

Absolutely the best show that has been on in years. I bought all the series and I was devastated to hear that it was ending. I hope everyday that it will come back on. I realized it was left open to hopefully come back on the air. Please it was the most amazing series.

My name is Neal and I use to be a truck driver until one day….hahaha but seriously the money sucked so I stopped. I didn’t start watching burn notice till after it ended. I started watching it from truck stops in my sleeper and fell in love with the show and characters. I have not liked a show or a character more since NYPD Blue and Andy Sipowitz and I never thought I would but Burn Notice and Michael Westen made me forget and the fact that Jeffery Donovan is from the Boston Area where I grew up makes me like him even more. I sat down and watched all 7 seasons in a week after I stopped driving.
A reunion movie or a mini 8th season like 24 did would be awesome. I really hope this happens because now without NYPD Blue or Burn Notice I will only be watching sports and I’m sure my wife will just love that. Hahaha. Please please make this happen.

a reunion movie would be fine a spin-off great, the only thing that has kept me going since BURN NOTICE SEASON FINALE is NBC’S HANNIBAL and the return of FOX’S IS 24 AND LAW&ORDER SUV , THEY don’t even show the reruns that much.
