Dallas: Win the Movie Collection on DVD

DallasWith all of the anticipation surrounding TNT’s new Dallas pilot, it might be a good time to catch up on where we last left the Ewings of Southfork.

Dallas ran for 357 episodes on CBS before being cancelled in 1991. The last episode ended in a cliffhanger with JR possibly having shot himself to death. Viewers had to wait until 1996 to find out if their favorite villain had gone to the great beyond. Many of the cast reunited for a TV reunion movie called Dallas: JR Returns. In addition to the central characters, the sons of Bobby and JR Ewing were also included in the storyline. Though they’ll be played by different actors, the offspring will be the focus of the new proposed series.

The reunion movie was a success so a second one was produced, Dallas: The War of the Ewings, and released in 1998. That was followed by a prequel called Dallas: The Early Years which gave a glimpse into the drama that led into in the events of the long-running series. The cast reunited for a 2004 special, Dallas Reunion: Return to Southfork, where they reminisced about their time on the show.

All three movies and the reunion special have been released in one DVD set called the Dallas: The Movie Collection. You can purchase the set or you can also try to win a copy here. To enter, you need to merely post a comment below. You can enter once per day.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if the new series could repeat the who shot JR storyline with John Ross and since it would be on Cable they could make fans wait up til a year to fine out who done it. I think that would be interesting.

I was an avid fan and became obsessed. Before DVR I recorded reruns of Dallas and Knots every day while at work. I would play back after work…….never got anything done in the late 90’s early 2000’s.
