The Tomorrow People: TV Show Cancelled by The CW

The Tomorrow TV show on CW: cancel or renew? The CW is starting over on Monday nights. They’ve cancelled both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People after one season apiece.

On The Tomorrow People, a teenager (Robbie Amell) discovers that he has paranormal abilities. He also learns that others like him have gone into hiding because they’re being hunted by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. The rest of the cast includes Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino, and Madeleine Mantock.

The drama debuted back in October and aired on Wednesday nights, paired with the network’s popular Arrow series. It performed well in the beginning but the ratings fell over the course of the season, dropping as low as a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.24 million viewers.

The series moved to Monday nights and lost even more viewers. In last April, The Tomorrow People hit a series low, drawing just 760,000 viewers.

The season (now series) finale, which aired this week, left plenty of story opportunities for a second season but it won’t be happening.

What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season of The Tomorrow People? Do you think it should have been cancelled?

i think they should continue both shows so at least you are not left on a cliff hanger. at least extend it to like 2 or 3 seasons so we r left in a good spot. i personally LOVED both of these shows so please continue both shows.

    thank you,

Really enjoyed the show. Although I watched the entire season on Netflix because I do not have cable. The target demographic is really a poor audience to consider seeing as most in this age group are moving away from cable television.

Alright lets be honest, the show lost viewership because there was NO advertisement for it. I’ve been watching CW shows for I don’t know how many years now and I probably only saw one commercial for the show. Maybe you should make it be known if you change the show to a different night??? Its a great show.

I agree, it should be brought back, although I can see why the ratings dropped. Stupid writers and producers let their own goofy politics and twisted world veiws interfere with a great storyline. Nearly every SF themed show that started out with a bang, sooner or later dies with a whimper at the hands of progressive liberals pushing unpopular agendas and causes on a public who is desperately seeking escape from the PC lunacy. They, the lefty crusaders, never seem to learn. We, the people seek entertaining escapism, not grandiose social commentary nor unattainable, utopiate, humanistic equilization. Just entertainment.
