Walking the walk, The Walking Dead TV series on AMC has promoted Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Tom Payne (Paul “Jesus” Rovia), Austin Amelio (Dwight), and Xander Berkeley (Gregory) to series regulars, for the upcoming seventh season of the zombie drama. THR reports the actors originally boarded the popular series in recurring roles.
The foursome joins The Walking Dead main cast including: Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, and Lauren Cohan. The season seven premiere date has not yet been officially announced. It is expected to premiere the Sunday of New York Comic-Con, which is October 9th. When we know, you will.
Payne is hero Jesus, currently supporting Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of survivors. Amelio is Dwight, a badly burned member of Negan’s dastardly Saviors who has a particular bone to pick with Daryl (Norman Reedus). And Berkeley is Gregory, the shady leader of the Hilltop Colony who is poised to clash with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) — provided the pregnant Alexandria Safe Zone resident survives the finale.
