The Bible mini-series was a big ratings success for the History channel. Will the follow-up AD: The Bible Continues be a hit for NBC? Will the network want another Bible-related mini-series? If it flops, could they pull this one off the air? Stay tuned.
The AD: The Bible Continues mini-series tells the tale of the later chapters of biblical history (following the Crucifixion of Christ). It focuses on the disciples who had to go forward and spread the teachings of Christ to a world dominated by political unrest. The cast includes Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Levy, Richard Coyle, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Emmett J. Scanlan, Jodhi May, Joanne Whalley, Ken Bones, Kevin Doyle, Helen Daniels, and Fraser Ayers.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/3 update: NBC has cancelled the series. They won’t air a second season but…
Final season averages: 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.41 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the AD: The Bible Continues mini-series? Would you like to see another Bible-related mini-series on NBC?
AD the bible miniseries is excellent. I am tired of all the sex, murder and violence on TV today. It’s refreshing to see the history of our Lord and how religion became such a important moment for all of us. Praise God! Keep this show on the air and be sure to produce more programs that inspire us all.
This is the best show to watch on Sunday night. I pray it continues to air. Remember the Lord to keep Him holy. This series is very much appreciated.
A.D. is boring compared to the Bible that ran on the History Channel. A.D does not follow scripture, and we yawn and we hope that it starts following scripture or NBC cancels the show.
I enjoy comparing the Bible to the series. It needs to have all episodes aired. Please do not cancel it.
Love A.D.! I hope that it continues to be shown each year. Can’t wait for each episode.
Would love to see more Biblical programming.
I love this Bible series. This is the best series on television right now. We need more bible based programming on television. Please bring more of this programming to viewers.
I love it. It isn’t biblically correct and I don’t mind as I would rather watch this then many other shows. Its clean in language which is nice. Has some drama and a strong story line which makes it believable if you don’t know the history or the bible. Good acting as far as I am concern.
I can’t wait to see it every week.I hope they renew it next year and every year.
AD The Bible Continues is the foundation of the church. St. Paul wrote, IF CHRIST HAS NOT BEEN RAISED THEN OUR PREACHING IS USELESS AND SO IS YOUR FAITH. MORE THEN THAT WE ARE FOUND TO BE FALSE WITNESS ABOUT GOD FOR WE HAVE TESTIFIED ABOUT GOD AND HE RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD. We believe because they saw the RISEN CHRIST… NBC your decision to air this show has allowed millions to see the struggle of the early church, this is not just a story but a faith that people are still willing to die for. God Bless…
I love biblical tv series or movies Pls don’t cancel it.
This show could go on forever, with 2000 years of history ahead of it. Can’t wait for the Crusades and Spanish Inquisition episodes.
C’mon With Trials!
This is the only show worth watching. None others interest me. Have watched since episode 1. Please don’t cancel
I am enjoying this movie AD.As a Christian it is very refreshing to know that we have a choice that represents our views and ideas. Thanks for giving us a voice for our concerns in this culture that has gone so far from the Biblical views.
I am truly enjoying A.D. the Bible continues. It is refreshing to see Christian programs. Yes I wish there was more Christian based series on NBC and on ABC and CBS. We see so much violence and evil in our world as it is let alone on tv. I feel that having more wholesome stories of people who lived in troubled times before us and got through with beliefs in a higher power. Through love, patience, forgiveness and grace. Wish more people would express their feelings to the people who do the programming for tv.
Thanks for asking.
Yes, I would like to see more series like the Bible and AD.
Yes, l would enjoy seeing more, Bible based TV. It is right on time with the present day persecutions of Christians abroad.
