Lifetime has reportedly cancelled their new BAPs TV show after four episodes. Two installments will remain unaired.
A reality show, BAPs follows a group of affluent African-American friends from St. Louis who self-identify as “BAPs” — Black American Princesses and Princes. The show debuted on July 23rd to weak ratings.
Today, the cast received bad news emails from Asylum Entertainment (which produces the show) which reads in part, “I wanted to let you know that Lifetime informed us that they will not be airing the last 2 episodes of BAPS. We’re very sorry it panned out this way. It’s very difficult to build an audience for an ensemble show like this one, but we’re very proud of the show and happy to have had the experience working with you.”
What do you think? Did you watch BAPs? Would you like to see the remaining episodes?
I was a fan of the show. I can understand why it may not have been a favorite to all, but to pull it before the season ended was not a cool thing to do to the ones of us who were vested in the show each week. The things that were said and done by those on the show were no more degrading or inflammatory than the things said by other reality show personalities. It reminds me of the black, Midwest version of a similar show on a rival network that is about affluent southerners. Both shows have their… Read more »
I for one really enjoy the show being as though I can identify with their life because I’m a bap I would really like to see the remaining episodes is sad how all of the black-scholes end up cancel
Yes I loved the show fowhat I have seen.I actually feel that the network disnt give tge show a chance to get publicity from the public especially through only for episodes I hope the reconsider to air it I love Kristen ,rai rai, anisha there fun so please re onsider
I enjoyed the show and would like it the show to return. At least have the courtesy of letting the season play out. I think Life Time could have done a better job in promoting the show in the first place.
The show was very interesting. I want to be returned. Lifetime needs to bring it back.
Yes, I watched the show and if poor ratings is responsible for its cancelation, fine. However air the final 2 episodes and be done with it. You shouldn’t leave those of us who did watch hanging. My girlfriends and I share the opinion that Lifetime disrespects it’s viewers. One friends whose British said there’s a station, ITV, in the UK that has lost a large portion of its viewership due to similar actions. People no longer wanted to get attached to programs that got pulled without warning or any sense of closure. I feel that way about the handling of… Read more »
It is disappointing to learn of this show being cancelled. I am from St. Louis and no all black people of whatever class you feel, does not act like that. Everyone and every set of friends are different. I honestly had no knowledge of this show to begin with and would not have known if I have not went and sat in my car one day on my lunch break. During the break they held a discussion about the show and those in it. Half of the callers were not aware and have not seen the show to comment off… Read more »
It needed to be canceled! A bunch of fake ass”so-called” uppercrust black society, trying to be down and at the same time so out of touch with the rest of black society!
I was disappointed the show ended . I am a reality freak and this was really I good one.
yes i would like to see the remaining two episodes. this show was not promoted well many people were unware of this show.
I like the show
I was looking for the show and it was clearly dropped but it was entertaining and I would’ve enjoyed viewing that last episodes. If this show didn’t get high ratings then it shouldn’t have been aired another season, but to just end the season early was disheartening for those who were watching. I think all tv is for entertaining except for news which should be for awareness of what’s going on in the world and around your community. Reality shows is for simple entertainment, it will not peek the interest of all.
I’m glad to see this show cancelled. This show should have never made it to it to television. I’m also highly disappointed in Lifetime for some of the shows that they have been airing. I was disgusted with the show when I saw a “GROWN” woman spit in another woman’s face…very classy for to be someone who is “privileged”….AND THEN BLAME IT ON A RESPIRATORY PROBLEM??? REALLY????!!!!! No ma’am. Have a seat. The network is truly feeding into the “reality show” epidemic. It has to stop somewhere.
I was disappointed that the show was canceled. It was very interesting to see such educated yet boudoir people act in such a manner. It definetly caught my family and I interest weekly, would love to see the remainding episodes
I want the show to come back.
