The ratings for The Blacklist TV show took another big hit last season, dropping nearly 40% in the same day demo ratings. Now that the drama series will have enough episodes for a good-sized syndication package, will this NBC series be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season? Stay tuned to find out.
The Blacklist revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). He offers to help the authorities if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is his partner. The FBI then essentially works for him as he identifies a “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. The other castmembers in this drama include Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of The Blacklist averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.83 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
5/11 update: NBC has renewed The Blacklist for a fifth season. Details here.
I love the blacklist. It is my favorite show. I do not want to see it cancelled.
I absolutely love the Blacklist. PLEASE do not cancel the show! It’s one of the Best shows on TV!
Omg. Please keep the Blacklist. We just love it. It’s one of the best out there. And James Spader just rocks as Reddington.
Keep Blacklist! It’s still my favorite show on TV.
Really enjoy the blacklist. Especially reddington. Such a character. Season 4 episode 1 ended very unexpectedly. Hope the show continues. So few good ones to watch. Thanks
The Blacklist is my favorite show. It is the best show to come along in several years. it would have help the ratings if they would have showed the last few episodes of last season just before Season 4 to get all the fans back up to speed. The networks used to do that all the time. Would have helped the season premiere numbers. Please don’t cancel Blacklist.
My husband and I were sitting here looking for the new season. Sorry we missed the premier . We love Reddington, Liz, Tom, Shaw and we look forward to the next 10 seasons
Please keep the series going
Sorry I meant James Spader. My finger hit the wrong key.

My husband and I really love the show, and James Spider is awesome. Please have season 5.

Love the Blacklist, please continue to Season 5 and beyond. Excellent series, storyline, and actors. Fascinating, never a dull moment! !!!.
Blacklist is an awesome show. Don’t know why the ratings are low. The interest for season 4 was a lot. It should be aired and should never be stopped. Love the show.
When does season 4 come to UK?
I think moving this show to Thursday night was a big mistake. It is now competing with Shonda Rhimes shows, which already has a very big following. Monday night was the best time for The Blacklist. Just saying…
I totally agree. The Blacklist is the better than all of Shonda Rimes shows,
Awosome show I love it please read to fans because don’t want to end soon. It reminds me of The Following which end few years ago which was not hit show.
I’m a fan of BL. Not a fan of Megan Boone.
I’m a fan of both.
I hope they don’t cancel. It’s one of the few good ones
