TV show description:
This soap opera follows a young couple as they move to Williston, North Dakota in order to seek their fortune. It’s said that a millionaire is made every day in this town that’s been booming since the discovery of a huge oil reserve.
Tycoon Hap Briggs (Don Johnson) is a typical oil drilling Barron and a force to be reckoned with. In contrast to Briggs’ self-made image is his socialite wife, Carla (Amber Valletta), who is forever jetting off to the city.
Confronted with his legacy, he is riled by his heavy drinking college dropout son, Wick (Scott Michael Foster), who’s sense of entitlement makes him an undeserving heir.
Meanwhile, Billy (Chace Crawford) and Cody LeFever (Rebecca Rittenhouse) are pursuing the American dream. They’re determined to succeed in a place that’s reminiscent of a frontier town during the gold rush — there are rowdy bars and no shortage of men easily making and parting with money.
Hap takes Billy under his wing with Billy’s drive and commitment reminding Hap of himself as a young man. Seeing someone take his place causes Wick to lose control and he embarks on a vicious campaign of hatred against those who he believes have wronged him.
Episode #10 — Departures
Christmas is a time for coming together, but for the Lefevers, it’s a time of difficult choices. Billy faces an ultimatum to either save his marriage by leaving Rock Springs forever or to stay in the oil game alone while Cody experiences temptation in the form of another man. With the Black Elks land deal slipping away, Annie and Hap consider doing the unthinkable – joining forces to help secure this once-in-a-lifetime oil acquisition. Fearing the fate of his son, AJ enlists Tip to help bring the child to safety. And finally, another father-and-son relationship is pushed to its limits when Hap and Wick finally lay it all out on the table at the Briggs Christmas Eve gathering.
First aired: December 10, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Blood & Oil TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Absolutely love Blood and Oil. Hate to see it end so soon. It’s not too late to change “cancelled” to “renewed!”
Love this show, hate to see it go!! Why would ABC cancel this series? It needs more time to develop and we need a great, juicy soap opera to watch primetime!!! Keep what viewers you have – do not cancel “Blood and Oil” !!!
Don’t understand this. Just when we like a tv show (BAM) cancelled. ABC is on my boycott list.
i loved this show. so upset it was cancelled. they should have moved it to a better day and time slot. i would look forward to it every week. chase crawford and scott michael foster are the best.
love the series hate to see it canceled
Please please please keep the show. I have grown up watching Don Johnson and he has aged so well and love his character he plays!!!! Love all the actors and actresses and love the story line too!!!!!!!! Please keep is going, I finally find a show I like and it always get cancelled
What the hell is ABC doing? Finally a GREAT show comes along and you cancel it? OMG, no wonder ABC is the least watched network. The top executives should be fired and replaced with people that know what the hell is going on!! I just can’t believe it. DAMN you ABC, you are now officially ASS.
This show is great. Don’t cancel
I am so upset ABC has canceled this show. Great cast. So tired of vampires and realty shows. Could have been the next Dallas!!!!!
Cancelled?! Seriously?! I’m just gonna subscribe to NetFlix. B’bye cable. I won’t miss you – you torture me. I get invested. And for what?! I’m big on boycotts. And I never go back. Then there’s the power of word-of-mouth …
Hate to see it cancelled. 🙁
Looked forward to watching it each week…so bummed!
MY BETTER HALF & I REALLY LIKE THE SHOW, SHOULD NOT BE CANCELLED THE PROBLEM WITH NOT ALOT WATCHING IS ON THE SAME TIME THAT THE WALKING DEAD IS ON, BAD TIME JUST CHANGE TO ANOTHER TIME AND THE RESPONSE WOULD BE GOOD
I loved this show. It had a “Dallas” quality to it with the intertwining of family and the richness of a cowboy type business. The women were beautiful and as devious as the men. It was great. Sorry to see it go. Guess there’s no accounting for taste among TV corporations.
I would have liked to see all 13 episodes instead of just 10.
