For six seasons, actor Billy Gardell starred on the Mike & Molly TV show, a CBS sitcom executive produced by Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Two and a Half Men, etc.). Now, Gardell and Lorre are working together again, on Bob ♥ Abishola. Will this comedy also be a success for the network? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A multi-camera sitcom, Bob ♥ Abishola (read as “Bob Hearts Abishola”) stars Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku, Christine Ebersole, Matt Jones, Maribeth Monroe, Vernee Watson, Shola Adewusi, Travis Wolfe Jr, and Barry Shabaka Henley. Bob (Gardell) owns a very successful compression sock factory in Detroit and runs the business with his mother (Ebersole), his sister (Monroe), and his younger brother (Jones). The stress of the job lands Bob in the hospital with a heart attack and he falls in love with his cardiac nurse named Abishola (Olowofoyeku), an immigrant from Nigeria. She came to America with her young son, Dele (Wolf Jr.) and they live with her Auntie Olu (Adewusi) and Uncle Tunde (Henley). Despite their very different backgrounds and her initial lack of interest, Bob is determined to win Abishola’s heart.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly on the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
4/14 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Bob ♥ Abishola TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS?
*5/6/20 update: Bob ♥ Abishola has been renewed for a second season.
The show is okay, its not bad nor great-kinda in the middle for me and I just found out that the show setting is here in Detroit. No wonder the transit bus Abishola was riding in kinda looked like a DDOT transit bus here. It had that green/yellow stripe on it.
Love the show. Very well written and really funny. Hope it gets renewed
This show just won’t play in Peoria. Too many close minded people of both races in this country. Sad to report. Just watch, not gonna happen. Most Americans couldn’t pick out her country if asked too.
That’s not the problem at all with the show. It doesn’t matter about her country or her race…the show is just not funny or any good. I gave it three tries and it never got any better.
One of the funniest shows on tv
I like this show..it is funny and I love the characters!
Looking for more episodes. I cant believe people are so against this show (thumbs down). Whats the problem? There are laughs all the way and there are adult type subjects broached like how people can be racist, or just plain mean under certain circumstances like the stroke. The show hits you with REAL life kind of dialog. If anything the show is too short. I watch on demand on my computer and only get 20 mins for a half hour show. It lifts my spirits and gives me belly laughs. Love it.
Wow wish you had TBBT to lead it in no…. Sorry but – and i love Lorre but- TBBT was a staple of the avg persons life during a bad time in this county, we got to laugh and look forward to it. Jim Parsons killed big bang theory, mom on the way, swat on the way, the TBBT fans did not show up because we were betrayed, because Jimmy needed out, but has enough time to try out a series with ms bialik right?… they had lightning, $, fans LOYAL Fans, they forgot what got them what they have…… Read more »
I love the show, please dont cancel it.
Love this show very upbeat and different
Please keep Bob Loves Abishola!! I find it very funny at a time when we need some comic relief. It is so entertaining.
Bob HEARTS Abishola….part of the problem with the branding. They got fancy.
This is the funniest new network comedy I’ve seen in a long time. PLEASE do NOT cancel this show!!!
This is a truly entertaining show which doesn’t need canned laughter! I’m white and LOVE the clever writing and actors. I can’t understand cancelling this show! It’s absolutely a FAVORITE show of our household!
Horrible show and one of the Nigerian actresses disrespects Native Black Americans. This show is trash. Just like her.
You show now it’s become an unwatchable of this latest episode of his mother and having a stroke was really terrible. Not only did it show the program in its worst aspect, it showed very little respect for people have had had a stroke. The show needs to be canceled this is nor funny nor informative please cancel the show.
Actually, this show took what is typically bad situation (a stroke) and didn’t hide the frustration that can come with it. Conversely, it was nice not to have a bunch of excessive drama, pity, sadness, etc included to drag the show down. I know several people who would act the same way that Dottie did.
Well, how can anyone look in fav of this? Stroke is a funny thing? Making funny people that had one? In the manner of taking the person and force her to as forgiveness to the nurse? This is uncalled for and it’s totally disgraceful. That’s why this director thinks he can put anything on TV Even with this person having a stroke and forcing her to apologize? This is not funny nor is it even remotely entertaining. I know several people who actually hated this episode.
I tried, but I just dont find it funny at all.
