Actors and others who are directly involved with TV shows often get pretty cagey when it comes to admitting if a series has been cancelled or not. Conversely, they’re often very quick to announce a renewal. Bones star David Boreanaz would fall under the latter category. There’s been no news from FOX but he just tweeted that “Season 7 is a go for Bones.”
From a ratings standpoint, the future of the FOX TV series has never been in question. It’s actually doing a bit better this season than it did last season. Last year it averaged a 2.88 in the 18-49 demo and 10.01 million viewers. So far, season six is averaging a 3.0 rating and 10.04 million. It’s a small increase but traditionally older shows don’t see their ratings rise. Bones is currently the fifth highest rated scripted series on the network.
Like House, Bones has been caught up in contract negotiations over licensing and production fees. Now, according to Boreanaz and inside sources, it appears a deal has been reached for season seven.
An official announcement for FOX is expected soon. There’s also word that things look good for The Finder spin-off.
You can keep an eye on the status of other FOX shows by bookmarking and watching our renewed or cancelled list. The network’s upfront presentation will be made on Monday, May 16th, and the list will be continually updated as new information’s made available.
What do you think? Are you glad that Bones will be back for season seven? How long would you realistically like to see the series continue?

I too love this show and have it on my DVR list to record. Would hate to see the series end.
