Starz has decided to cancel Boss after two seasons on the air. The Kelsey Grammer series won’t be returning for a third season but viewers may still get some resolution.
Boss revolves around Chicago Mayor Tom Kane (Grammer), a powerful man who struggles to stay on top while secretly battling a debilitating brain disease. Others in the cast include Karen Aldridge, Connie Nielsen, Kathleen Robertson, Martin Donovan, Jeff Hephner, and Hannah Ware.
The cable channel renewed the show for a second season a month before the series even premiered. Had they waited, they might have cancelled it instead. The ratings for the first season were underwhelming and the cast and crew knew that season two would have to do better for the show to survive.
It didn’t. The second season averaged 360,000 viewers and a 0.1 rating in the demo. The cancellation certainly doesn’t come as a surprise.
While there won’t be a third season of Boss, Lionsgate TV and Starz are having discussions about wrapping up the story with a two-hour movie.

I loved the show I streamed it in two days and was so disappointed that they left us with so many unanswered questions would love to see these questions answered

I loved “Boss”. I took time out to catch up by starting from the very beginning. As each episode continue on, the more interesting it got. The more the characters began to develop into your person I began to feel close to them. It was exciting to find out which direction things were going to turn. Not knowing what was going to happen next just made it so intriguing. I like the new African American characters that what brought on board. I would love to see an end movie tying up all loose ends would be awesome….I loved it and was hooked
What HAPPENED….This has by far been the best series I’ve ever watched….I was binge watching waiting for season 3….naw that was a really good show….

Enjoyed the show very much. Would definitely like to see how it’s going to end, be it in the form of a series 3 (preferably) or a movie.

Second time I watched the 2 seasons. Didn’t realize that 2012 was the end. Surprised it had such poor ratings.
I enjoyed Boss I wished they hadn’t canceled it.
I am sad to hear that it will not be returning, as I loved it.
O h well, a movie would be some consolation
